Rass'am died a fairly ignoble death, as is befitting a necromancer bug, and as a result, I have some screenshots and obituary to share with all!

[hide]
Rass'am's first graft he had performed!

And over here we have Rass'am's TRANSFORMATION! His evolution was very neat, and this is the aftermath, after he shed many skins in his cocoon-like evolution...

[/hide]

Those are my only screenshots, actually. Sorry!! But Rass'am was fun! I got to play doctor, help with plots in the EC, and had several plot threads going right up until the end, and got minor renown as a comedically ineffectual villain, who all the same had become known as a potent necromancer and almost back-stage leader of the EC after our longer-served leaders went away. My inability to make sendings for several weeks meant I had to work harder with recruitment, which still proved quite enjoyable. Lots of propaganda and recruitment still kept me pretty content with the EC as a faction to be part of.

I hope that all that got to play with the legendary WOBBLY BONCE on one character or another were entertained and enjoyed it, I'm going to make a merchant lord and buy my way out of the underdark now ;)

I will miss her!

Amelia was very cool, and caused a little bit of conflict of her own in addition to writing a very interesting and entertaining newspaper on IC events!

I look forward to your next character!

So basically this: http://www.efupw.com/forums/index.php?topic=689162.0

I am trying to form a more permanent, static group of people interested in necromancy and mad science, either from a researcher/operator perspective, or from a patient perspective who wishes to be grafted and empowered by necromancy.

Almost any class is welcome for this group, except druids obviously, and withering is not ideal. Withering isn't always disallowed but it is not ideal. If you want to concept for this group, don't plan on doing withering. If you're already withered but want to join, we'll see...

The goal of the group is to either empower members with undeath - such as grafts and maybe even palemastery - or to attempt to research ways to fully convert someone to a free-willed undead. Hence, why we are not withered. Our secondary goal is to protect members of the cabal.

This group has a high probability of conflict and pvp, and also a high amount of research and experiment oriented RP which involves characters of scholarly and magical classes as well as those who do not have such inclinations (to be experimented upon and grafted!)

Post here OOC or follow the above link to ICly try and join this group! Or message me here or on Discord!

Necromancy is not an inherently evil act, it's just that it is easily used for evil purposes. It's advertised as "undead school" but that doesn't make 100% the entire school an inherent act of evil in D&D. Fear isn't evil. Negative Energy Burst isn't evil. Poison isn't evil.

They just are.

Animating the dead in necromancy -is- typically considered by many sources and most DM's to be evil. But the entire school is -not- evil.

Similar to how conjuration isn't an evil school just because you can summon demons with it.

General Discussion / Re: Your Most Iconic PC

Bigrin Boggin, a horribly RP'd (didn't RP his horribly min-maxed stats at all) gnome who killed a councillor and spent like 2 months in exile and hiding before being eliminated.

I don't play very "iconic" PC's  :D

If I can actually manage to build my golem for dorfland, Gunther might become my most iconic PC... We'll have to see!

I didn't notice resource usage but I noticed that when the advanced graphics boxes were all checked and everything was at "maximum" (in quotes because it's still not good graphically, because it's such an old game) my controls were lagging. Like literally, I would do anything ingame and it would have a delay of like .25-.5 seconds before something happened, and some controls didn't even work (specifically the camera zoom in/out controls).

Easiest just to leave the advanced graphics off. Who needs 'em?

But our CD keys from one game to the next are different I imagine. Will we need to tell a DM our CD keys in the old and new installations so they can be transferred manually (which sounds time consuming for DM's), or is there a system in place to do this already?

Bob and I have tried a cleric with both animal and plant domain, and you can't take plant theme and I don't remember if you get an animal-themed summoning theme.

Firewall's not causing the issues; used netstat, nothing was wrong; I also just tried using "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" and nothing.

Dark Shadowz:

- It stops me when I hit "connect", and then says "could not translate address"
- EFU does not show up in my history list because this is a fresh install, and it doesn't add it to my history unless it successfully connects to the server.
- I've tried altering the port I connect with in nwnplayer.ini and nothing worked. I also tried connecting not through my wifi at the apartment, but through my phone's hotspot, and it didn't work. My buddy installed fresh on his desktop and connected immediately to EFU, so it's definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY not my router.

Caster on the IRC says he's had this problem before and it resolves itself. Maybe I should just wait a few days.

I've just moved two days ago, to a different state, about 550 miles away. Now I can't connect to the server.

I've tried:

  • Restarting NwN
  • Restarting laptop
  • Trying direct connect instead of the custom launcher for the server
  • Tried using both the web address and numeric IP address
  • Tried using my phone's hotspot, instead of my new apartment's router, and I've connected via my phone before - so I don't know why that didn't fix it
  • Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and all associated haks/overrides
My buddy/roommate also can log into the server on his desktop so it isn't our network.
I have no idea WTF is going on. Can anybody help me? I've got my friend (the one I moved in with) interested in playing, too, but he won't play without me.
