Suggestions / Uniforms and Altar system
February 11, 2019, 05:08:08 AM
Good suggestion based on current gameplay involving peple stealing uniform pieces: Ticker / Peer uniforms should be collectible, and something like a lair altar should be in place in Peerage and Ticker Town where the other side's uniforms get turned in and put on display, attackable by the other side to get their uniforms back. Turning in uniforms would result in gold, faction, or perhaps favour points that could be exchanged for simple goods.

Suggestions / Re: Spells Suggestions Thread

Arcane 2nd Circle has a GREAT Fire spell (Combust), a lesser Fire spell (Scorching Ray), a decent Acid attack (Melf's Acid Arrow), and the trash-tier ELECTRIC LOOP. However.... it's sorely missing Ice. THEREFORE:

Snilloc's Snowball Swarm
(Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting)

Evocation [Cold]
Level: Sorcerer 2, Wizard 2, Blightbringer 2,
Components: V, S, M,
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect: 10-ft.-radius burst
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex half
Spell Resistance: Yes

A flurry of magic snowballs erupts from a point you select.
The swarm of snowballs deals 2d6 points of cold damage to creatures and objects within the burst.
For every two caster levels beyond 3rd, the snowballs deal an extra die of damage, to a maximum of 5d6 at 9th level or higher.
Material Component: A piece of ice or a small white rock chip.

For ease of implementation, could use existing 3rd Circle's Icy Burst spell and downscale the damage.

Oh, a final consideration, particularly in view of Trident being 2H now while remaining weaker than Spears, is that Trident requires MARTIAL proficiency, versus Spear being Simple. Which means for some characters, not only must they spend a feat, but they're doing so for a weapon worse than they could be using without.
#4
Understandable approach. I've got no complaints on them being 2H... just on them being objectively worse if they are, because then:

Short Spear = 1H, 1d6, x3

Trident = 2H, 1d8, x2 <--- Only one with x2 instead of x3. Given the additional prongs, I can understand the damage per spike is lowered, which decreases penetration... but there should be some sort of upside to this if not via raw damage.

Spear = 2H, 1d8, x3

As it stands, outside of thematics (or powerful tridents being available, which I've only seen once or twice in EfU:R), there's no reason at all to not go with Short Spear or Spear instead, the latter of which has many magical variants (perhaps Short Spear does, too, but I've never seen one).

EFU:R, Tridents were 1H weapons (two of my chars had them), and still should be, according to DM Gip. Can't recall if they were Medium then or not, but either they need x3 crit like spears, or they need to return to being 1H, because as they are at the moment, there is no reason to NOT use a Spear instead.

Trident is equipping into both hands instead of  for medium races, instead of 1H, making it objectively worse than a Spear in every way.

Bug Reports / Pauper Pond - Wilderness Survival
January 24, 2019, 02:44:01 AM
Not sure what's happening here (see combat log) but obviously something is screwy with Wilderness Survival.

#8
Maybe with tunnel on the surface,  and a grotto like the one under the Low Road that gives escape into the pond itself.
#9
Since we can use them there to cook the fish we catch, but some nature types don't want to go to civilized market to buy more.
#10
Need someplace to dump all the trash from fishing that I get, and having non-persistent container means can share things without having to just leave them all over the ground.

Could also just have the NPC dialogue set to Whisper, Howland.

On Hit - Acid Slash works properly on shields. Eliza had a shield with said function, worked all the time.

PC: Kiggil

RACE: Kobold

CLASS: Sorcerer (Tribal Shaman Perk)

In my KOBOLD LAIR, only -some- pieces of Baublium are turning into points in the altar, roughly half. The altar would not accept the other pieces. My assumption is the altar accepts items based on their resref, in which case ALL the Baublium resref's should be added to the list of approved items.

Also, I just noticed while in the Spider Tunnels using Giant Spider summon, but three Hunting Spiders completely ignored my summoned Giant Spider I was using to break down webs. Meanwhile, the Hunting Spiders kept jumping to my location in an attempt to find and bite me. Appears to be either related to my Tribal Shaman Perk (Animals don't attack), or faction bugs between Spiders. Though if it is perk-related, the Hunting Spiders should not be aggressive to me at all - and yet they constantly attack me on sight.

PC: Kiggil

RACE: Kobold

CLASS: Sorcerer (Tribal Shaman Perk)

PERK FEATURE(S): 'Animals do not attack you'

SUMMONING THEME: Spider

I conjured Giant Spider (SC 1) multiple times and Summoned Brood Keeper (SC 3) multiple times, while facing Hunting Spiders, Underdark Racing Spiders, and a Stone Lizard. The URS's and Stone Lizard were a single group encounter.

Problem: My summoned spiders, when given commands to attack or defend in any way, simply stood there and did nothing while the named mobs attacked Kiggil. I had to manually select summons with 'Control Companion' and then select a target, for each and every one of my summons, while the hostile enemies were harming my summons and myself.
