I will post some screenshots later, but I wanted to do a thread for my old(and returned) PC Eric. Eric was prior to the Darkening a grave digger at a temple of Kelemvor and not a particularly remarkable individual. Generic peasant really. Not even the creepy igor-esque weirdo who digs graves, really just a perfectly ordinary guy who shows up to do his job, which is digging graves and carrying heavy things. He was an orphan and raised in the temple. Confession time! He was not ACTUALLY a Mistlocke survivor! Okay he was, kind of! A few weeks after the start of EFU:R there was a "survivors of Mistlocke" quest/prelude thingy which involved many of the surviving EFU:M PCs trying to get away alive. Pretty much everyone else was dead so this was a "last ditch effort" by the few still alive. New PCs were okay for the event as well. Eric was created as a survivor for that. Kelemvor apparently dead, he prayed to Jergal to save him, promising to serve him forever if only he lived! The group knocked off an Illithid tower and then got into the Underdark by [spoilers].
The leader of that merry expedition? None other than Sigvar, aka the leader of the Ascension cult! Eric had some uh.. interesting encounters with the Spellguard in the weeks that followed! He managed to survive the Withered "purge" of Upper as a consequence of the fact he had a 'real" job as a Scrivener at the Mausoleum, ALWAYS kept himself at stage 0 of the Withering and avoided avoided every Watcher, Spellguard, clerk and other government agents like the plague, lest one of them check his legal status! He spent the remainder of his days tracking down adventurer corpses and being a not particularly memorable Scrivener, though I always enjoyed him. If you have never played a Scrivener, I would encourage you to give it a try, it is an interesting experience. Eric's "goal" was to keep his job, stay in Sanctuary and not be thrown out for being withered. After succeeding at that for a time, I called it a success and shelved the PC.
Many people thought he was an imbecile. He had a serious speech impediment but was not an idiot. Yet he had no education of any sort, being a peasant laborer prior to the Darkening. He did learn a few things in Sanctuary but I enjoyed his county-bumpkin nature shining through into conversations even at the end.
He really, really, really, REALLY hated the Spellguard due to [spoilers]. When an actual rebellion arose his anger won out over his fear and off he went to finally get REVENGE!
It was great fun briefly playing him as an Ordinant, my thanks to everyone. I will track down some screenshots of his early adventures and post them tomorrow when I finish sorting through them, I believe I have some of when we knocked over a Mindflayer tower! He was a witness to a number of exciting events in the early days of EFU:R(and dragged away the corpses!) so I will have some historical screenshots to add as well!
