"My Autumn's Done Come - Character Theme Song - Listen!
Sediphus Enkh, long time Scrivener of the Sanctuary Mausoleum, has been destroyed at last.
Destroyed, for he was never living. Scrivener Enkh was indeed an undead PC, however he did not truly understand what had happened to him during the course of his centuries of existence.
Sediphus Enkh was born in the Empire of Netheril and from a young age was taken into the care of the Jergalite Mortuary of Nebezzdos under the instruction of "Akh'Malevek." Some of you may remember this quest from EFU:A and its boss "Roaming Remains of Akh'Malevek." Well, that's where he was from.
Life in Sanctuary was never dull even if Enkh himself was quite dull in terms of what he wanted to do. Enkh was truly devoted to his duties as a sanctioned undead of Jergal and was mostly concerned about finding the dead and returning their corpses to the Mausoleum with dignity. As with all undead, however, he did have one major weakness as he regularly required the blood of the living in order to sustain himself and not fall into madness. Blood was acquired through a variety of methods, but he was no blood-bandit and acquired many, many vials over the course of his career almost always peacefully.
He was a perfect concept for me because my schedule often takes me away from EFU and I was able to go back to him and always have a purpose, and he was usually low-key enough that most people didn't notice his appearance or disappearance. I've been quietly playing him, off and on, since late-2015.
I played him a lot more recently and really enjoyed going on all of the interesting Elmo dream quests and witnessing the sad tale of Aistcarierl Numifa and also the mysterious drama of whoever was scheming to steal his Scrivener robes. He had many fun adventures with Brother-in-duties Charlie Graystard.
Aistacariel's death brought a large quantity of fresh blood into his hands and he tried to put that to good use. It was not a Bloodmage ritual but something else to help sustain him so far from his home. Unfortunately, the randomly determined results of the ritual did not work out well at all for Enkh as it unexpectedly made him some powerful enemies.
The circumstances of his death left me feeling sad, but I think that's the lesson of the story of Enkh and the story of EFU. All beings must find their final end, and it may come sooner than you think and under circumstances you do not control.
It was a great pleasure for me to play this character and I would like to thank everyone who interacted with him!
Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots.
But here are his two two portraits:
