Deo was great. His last moments were particularly compelling, wish I could've stayed a bit longer!

I think the explorables that have loot chests and obvious boss monsters guarding them need to be locked. I've recently done a couple of pretty tough explorables with a group only to find the chest completely empty from someone just looting and leaving without facing any of the challenge. Frustrating to say the least.

Perhaps modeling after the demon explorable, where the boss drops a key?

Secured Package
A container that has a unique power to add/check/remove a seal/trap. It's armed by casting a spell on the bag or using thieves tools on it, and triggers when someone opens it without disarming it.

Cursed: Spellcaster owner casts Curse on the bag. Checked and disarmed with lore and spellcraft.
Locked: Owner uses thieves tools on the bag. Checked and unlocked with open lock or crowbar item.
Trapped: Owner uses acid trap on the bag. Check and disarmed with Disable Trap. If triggered it destroys the items in bag.
Secret: Owner uses a wax seal item on the bag. Checked and opened without ruining the seal with ????. Message shown when opened and seal is broken beforehand.

Can be used by players or randomly spawned in quests/events to contain loot, potions, or nothing at all.

The BEETLE KING is gone, but his legacy will live on! Really cool character, here's one of the more memorable snippets from conversations we had during our occasional news swaps that stuck with me as to what kind of person/creature Hlahlissesil-zah was.

edit: oh i'm dumb and didn't see you already posted this. Oh well!

I might be a bit biased regarding this, but you should check it out! Even if your PC only has a mild interest in the Machine, there's a swap meet going down in 11 hours or so from this post.

Come even if you're a FILTHY SPELLGUARD DOG in disguise! Or come blow us all up! Either way, it should be an interesting way to kick things off and potentially see some lasting ramifications for the group/server.

I had to save these screenshots, because it was too funny/awesome at the time.

Eileen the Scrapknight's first lesson on being a badass wanderer. Rahum takes her to the Spire and spouts some monk wisdom as they climb to the top. I honestly had no idea OOC what the true intent of the lesson was until Rahum started beating the shit out of my character, and I had to delete the timecube nonesense I had queued up to emote being bopped pretty hard and fast.

Definitely one of my favorite PCs, and I'm pissed you're retiring him before our master/student showdown!!!

Last week of an internship, and I think the people in charge finally realized this and are squeezing every little bit of work out that they can. I'll be sparse for a few days!

Really cool character who definitely one up'd my timecubeness regarding the Spellguard and the SHEEPLE. He definitely went out in a really cool way and left a huge impact!

Suggestions / Machine Junk Turn-in/Favor store
July 05, 2015, 05:20:33 AM
While it's fun to carry around some of the broken junk you can find in the Machine to have it "just in case", I think it would be neat to have someone to dump your latest scrap run findings off to for some minor rewards. Another system like the salvage/rat meat in Lower with some different rewards instead of potions.

For potential NPCs to use, maybe Molly in the Crone will give rations/trinkets for turnins of malfunctioning/broken tron parts. Maybe the same type of favor store can be put in Upper in the tradehall or workmill as well. Heavier junk could be more valuable, maybe. I like to think it would encourage more people to explore and break stuff in the Machine.

Also as a sort of related suggestion: All animatrons you kill have malfunctioning/broken parts added to their loot list.
