Correspondence / [Poem] Sent to the Scribes
September 15, 2024, 08:45:35 AM

I'm Peet Boggin,

You've probably heard around,
Slinging poetry on the ground,
Now I know you Scribes don't know art,
Your verses hit a crowd like a warm fart,
Stop playing with your little pens and ledgers,
Find me and get rough around the edges,
I challenge your best to a poetry duel,
I'll feed you my verses like a bucket of gruel.

Greetings chaps,

I am Charlie Wellington, amatuer archeologist and expeditionist. I am seeking ongoing sponsorship for my grand expeditions.  If you are a patron of arts, discoveries, archaeology, and treasures do consider sponsoring me and the chaps. We are a good bunch very altruistic in nature, scouring the ruins and wastes for discoveries and grandeur. Grand expeditions aren't on the cheap side with supplies and equipment, the Sandstone College is cheaper than sunshine, we are seeking sponsorship from fine gentleman, ladies, and upstanding citizens. What you will receive in return is discoveries and wares for collection or sale that would make even a aristocrat jealous.

Our price is 1000 Dinar up front, you will receive wares of interest that we discover as we scour the wastes and give a good what for and how's your mother to the privatives.

Yours faithfully,

Charlie Wellington.

Correspondence / Re: [Letter to Sergeant Colmes]
March 17, 2023, 10:34:41 PM
Dear Sergeant R. Colmes.

A command stick is a short thin stick used to point and issue commands on the battlefield.  It is inappropriate as a weapon and merely a tool of command. I wouldn’t want to face an ambush of ruffians without my command stick.

Yours Sincerely,

Charlie Wellington

Correspondence / [Letter to Sergeant Colmes]

I am writing to express my displeasure with an encounter with a corrupt ruffian named Wulfsige Greyson. I was merely minding my own business walking through the town square when Mr Greyson popped out and accosted me, he claimed the stick in my hand was a deadly weapon. I politely explained to Mr Greyson that it was merely a command stick, far from being a deadly weapon. It was at this point Mr Greyson demanded to search my pack, which I consented to as I had nothing to hide. What happened next is outrageous! He then demanded payment of 25 dinar as a fine for holding a stick! Outrageous! I contested this outrage as any upstanding gentleman would, and then he began to try and extort a total of 50 dinars out of me! I was coerced into paying this unlawful fine. Now I write to you good sir to see this wrong undone and have this ruffian Mr Greyson be given a good dressing down for his abuse of power. I should hope not all guests to your town are treated with such distain and disrespect.

Yours Sincerely,

Charlie Wellington

Suggestions / Reduce abundance of Healing supplies.
February 21, 2023, 09:06:05 AM
Please consider reducing healing supplies, at least at the low levels, cannot attest to mid-high level. It seems no different than last chapter which was over the top.

My character only just level 5, hasn't done all the lowbies, and has only repeated about half a dozen. Makes me heavily regret putting points into healing. I'll probably just bin those 13 weak waters, maybe even bin the light waters if theres an abundance of healing at mid levels.

I find with reduced healing supplies players actually slow down between battles to heal up and allow healers to use kits etcs and talk tactics a bit, rather than just popping a couple of charges and running into the next room.

Suggestions / Re: Druid Companions - lower restrictions
October 10, 2021, 12:25:37 AM
I've missed the part where you can start with a default companion which would largely placate me. I thought you could only train one. I still think the suggestion should be considered  based on the system being too similar or the same for rangers and druids. Druids should have a sizeable advantage over rangers, most rangers are Peerage. It's not going to be a really mechanical boost for druids, more a RP and convenience. As it stands now I believe a ranger will train a companion well before a Druid, based solely on rangers leveling to 6-7 much quicker.

Suggestions / Druid Companions - lower restrictions
October 09, 2021, 11:06:56 AM
Lower the level requirements for Druids training animal companions. As it stands now you need to be about level 6 to be able to make use of basic animal companions as a druid. I'm not sure if there are other variables involved I am missing but it just mentions levels. While it makes sense to have higher restrictions for rangers, it doesn't for Druids. Default NWN has Druids getting companions a level one and rangers at 6. Changlings are kill on site, and most druids will tend to be very isolated and outcasts because of this, thus making it harder to get to level 6+ where as a ranger can just do the normal lowbie run and get there in a day.

So I suggest making it possible for Druids to train wolves, giant frogs, basic stuff like that starting at level 3. They can already AE them so why not just make them trainable for Druids earlier.

Suggestions / Ring 100 Safe spawn location
February 13, 2021, 12:09:04 AM
Could we move the safe spawn location close to the Burgage transition so dweebs don't need to run the whole length of ring 100. And/or unlock one of the gates. It's not such a convenient location with the end of Ticker and addition of Burgage

Suggestions / Fix trap appearances
February 01, 2021, 03:57:50 AM
Obviously a very minor thing and it's possibly related to a loot system or something. I don't like the random appearances of traps, like a spike trap with acid blob appearances, or frost with a spike trap appearance. Definitely happens with trap loot. I think recovered traps are ok. Thought I'd throw it out there since it ruins my E-mer-shuns. Not sure if it's fixable?

As title says add a restriction so only Humans can do this quest. The Vale quest was restricted to Peers only which makes sense as why would you let outsiders into your building to steal from you. Same applies to house Kwhajar; specifically in the case of one version of the quest where you remove a half-orc. It makes zero sense to send another half-orc in risking further incident.

The other quests make sense unrestricted

Suggestions / Add new low level Ponds Quest
June 17, 2020, 12:33:40 AM
I suggest another low level Ponds Quest is added, perhaps lvl 4-5, and only can be taken by Ponds residents.

As the third hub there's not a lot to do there for a character starting out. Specifically for an outcast or outlaw who would rather avoid Ticker and Peerage who's not a changling.

I'm not a big fan of doing the rounds through all the hubs so Ponds exclusive, and there is plenty of quests already for starting Ticker.

If DMs like the idea I would be interested in making a quest for consideration.

I've had it work and not work. Recently not working at all. Def a bug

Ok so my opinion of this is the complete opposite. I think there is way too much consumable and healing bloat. But I will try to be objective about this since it was recently changed.

So I did a test run with a fighter and I found out a couple of things. Healing is absolutely bloating plentiful. I started a character and played it until just below level 4. So I didn't do too much. After uses; I'd found 93 cure minor charges, 29 Cure light charges, 26 cure moderate charges, and 2 cure serious charges, and 5 healing kits. In like 30-40 minutes of play. That's staggering. Things to note there are crumbled statues everywhere and Ticker quests have blur that will last you though most of it not to mention runes. I did not put any points into search or heal(not that I would need it).

However! There has obviously been a reduction in ash recently and I 100% believe KoP's frustrations and this is probably why; 97% of those healing supplies came from ring 100. Ring 100 also has the crumbling statues everywhere. Thus if you choose the new awakening start you will be stocked in healing supplies. If you choose the Ticker start, and probably Peerage, you will notice a large decrease in healing than before. I would say it's probably something that needs more experimenting with to determine if the Ring 99 starts are too low on healing. You can also buy cheap cure minor trinkets in the start area, as I did, I could have bought much more, that accounts for 58 charges of cure minor.

I personally like the change for a variety of reason which I won't go into great detail but I will just throw some things out there; you cannot sell healing, players will not buy anything below cure serious for the most part. Players don't pick up dirty ash for the most part starting at mid levels 6+, they don't pick up light healing potions, only specialised healers pick up healing kits and a lot of the time don't because they already have full stock, this stuff is just left on the ground. Cure minor trinkets are completely worthless, not worth their carry weight, my mages just pop cure moderate charges outside combat, or cure light if I'm trying to spare charges. There is/was complete bloat. Things might have changed a little now but will have to see as its a recently change.

It is kind of in an odd place though, its around that little corner. There's no loot there so no reason to tread that ground.
