This remains an issue.

The daze effect does not appear to be proccing, however the deafening one is.

Furor tutors claim a level 5 barbarian is too weak to learn their powers.
Or at the very least GRAHOOM says so, won't say his location to avoid spoilers 

I'm told they're not meant to be spawning in the Great Fissure, and so, they are!
They also spawn in the Purple Caves quest in there.

I can't remember the exact words of the area name, but the "Magma Fissures" exploration areas have damage ticks that can go up to 6 times per round in them, often though only having three.
Still though it's impossible to outheal this damage or even run away from them, might be worth having a look at it.

As far as I know this is possible on all ships.
