I personally think demons/devils should be more of a big deal than people make of them.

It would feel 'cheapened' if you just saw hordes of random demons just lying around the crossroads or something.  I think some things are cooler when they're rare.

My playtime is going to be severely decreased for the time being so consider me out for a while!  If anyone needs me or my PC to log in for anything feel free to send a PM and I will do my best to make it but I just can't justify spending so much of my time playing EfU right now, as fun as it is :-)

Loved dealing with you.

"Why did you have your hand up the gang lords arse?  You took something, what was it!!!"

"What, a man can't cop a quick feel before he dies?"

One of the quickest witted and best lines I've ever seen.  Well done :)

I don't understand why it's such a big deal to split groups to do it.  If anything the roleplay it encourages (people to 'guard' the dubious looking entrance, or the Cliffs, which are pretty much the best place for an ambush ever?) surely make it worth allowing anyway - even if it is a bit of a metagame and purists will dislike it being done.

It's a necessary evil as so many have said.  The high level quests require a LOT of healing even if you are simply unlucky - and relying on luck in DnD is never a good thing.  So having a simple, 2 minute quest like this just to stock up on healing to do the much more fun harder quests is worth it.  And this is what it was intended for, right?

It would be nice if it scaled up the amount of healing with the number of people doing the quest.  But otherwise I don't get the problem.

You will always have people complaining that there is not enough of this, or too much of that.

I've always loved EfU in all it's incarnations, and am amazed that everything feels fresh still today.

I had thought that there was a danger that going back to the Underdark might be a mistake, after all, Old Port and the Rubies and everything surrounding that area might have made for an extremely interesting setting, but the truth is that the Underdark is amazing and better than ever, and somehow every little minor potion now feels like a small victory and treasure to possess, as opposed to one of a hundred more - PvP is now genuinely frightening, and not just the 15 minute supply-burners that some seemed to degenerate into in earlier settings!  Healing being scarce - long may it continue.

Maybe it does lack an antagonist for now, but I am sure that will change in time!

Although I agree that the mudmen monster guys could maybe do with being a little bit scarier (not much!) I don't think giving some spawns flesh to stone would really be a lot of fun, and people would probably just metagame it anyway.

A few scarier mud variant monsters might be nice!  But I don't want to ask for lots of work.

Doomed after being devoured by spiders, who feast upon his large corpse.  I got to do the one thing I wanted and had a lot of fun along the way.  Shame I couldn't continue but there is no room in the world for an EXTREMELY FAT freak...

I rolled for every single stat, and everything I did with the PC was designed that he rarely reacted the same way twice.    I could have done a better job of that, but I tried once or twice to see what my reaction should be.  Generally, neutral, except for one single mushroom man!

And left some random flyers around.   With senseless propaganda.

Nonetheless his attempts at tapping in to the power of chaos ended him completely once and for all, transforming him into an bloated mess

sincerely, Egg.
