Cliques have always been an issue since shortly after beta, perhaps even before though I didn't notice it at the time. Hard to tell people they can't hang out with their OOC friends though, and given the challenge of the server and the potential for opposing dogmas and alignments amongst PCs, cliques are to be an expected outcome for good or ill.

I thought the thing that leveled you to 6 over time (character advancement system?) in EFU:M was good. Gives those social butterflies a bit more staying power and a level 6 PC really is just barely strong enough to stretch his legs without leaving a red smear outside the city gates, either in the UD or in Ymph. Not sure what brought on the change to 3 or 4, whatever it is now, but that sucks.

New players getting some free respawns would be cool. If you're going to shell out $10 for new CD keys every week then have at it, I just don't see it being an issue.

LPFF had some good observations. Not sure I'm 100% on board with all of the suggested changes since they'll change what EfU has become (the majority of the vets seem to like it, after all). I'd probably be for anything that takes the edge off the learning curve while leaving all the vets on the plateau of awesomeness.

I thought it was funny someone else noticed the pseudo-arena thing too. Nothing for it - it should have been an expected outcome given all the elements in play.

Necromancy is badass. Cool character.

It is an arguably strong perk. Permanent invisibility isn't foolproof despite what you may think (not including see invis). I think the level 5 abilities are more frightening than the 8th. Still, there are perks where the end result is potentially much more powerful.

Summoning is already really beefed up, so cultist with one of the stronger themes scares me for good reason.

A good/lucky witchcraft player can produce items which give him infinite / many uses of useful spells per day, but you can kill yourself in the process.

A good/lucky unpredictable player can gain boons that make them solo powerhouses - many of which have yet to be seen. They can also die so there's that.

Arcane mimics can stretch the benefit of any spells the party has (even on items) by duplicating the effect, making them able to effectively change their spell list on the fly. A little dependent on others but that's the tradeoff for casting whatever you want whenever you want.

Just saying.

Quote from: Kotenku;349956It was a ridiculous accent. Being upset that people said it's a ridiculous accent is also ridiculous. Play your dumb character and have fun. Trying to keep everything about our elfgames serious isn't just impossible, it's also incredibly boring.

This.

I saw this play out very poorly for a PC in the past. As one of the PCs who went to lengths to arrest him, I felt pretty bad about the affair.

I would support PCs (who have already gone to lengths with an application) have more authority to doll out street justice, but give the other PCs in question the opportunity to have a DM presence later reexamine their case, should they wish.

I think Naga said it best in the past that it was better to act in the moment and apologize later. Assuming the Watchmen aren't executing people in the streets I see no harm in it - DM's could issue warrants if there is sufficient evidence of a crime in a criminals absence that Watchmen could doll out in person or via bounty hunters, should they wish.

Played it myself, mainly because I've played pen and paper shadowrun in the past, and my thoughts mostly echo what has been expressed here-

The campaign it comes bundled with is short but sweet. Mechanics appear balanced and interesting. Nothing impressive graphically, but the flavor text really outlines the Shadowrun world for you. Gameplay was straight forward, similar to X-COM at its core but with a myriad of ways to develop your individual character. You can focus solely on being the best rifleman in the world at the cost of other skills and abilities, or you can spread out your skills and be a magician/swordsman, a hacker/rigger (riggers control little robots that shoot bullets and other things for them), or any other combination of abilities that suit your tastes.

By itself, probably not worth the $20 if you aren't already a Shadowrun fan, but the steam workshop lets you DL new user created content easily enough so finding more things to do with the game shouldn't be a problem for long. There aren't any guarantees with user created content but if you stick to the higher rated stuff you'll generally have a better time of it (at least, in my experience with other games). At a glance it doesn't seem like there's a lot of high rated content up right now but given some time I'm sure that will change.

When its down to $10 in a year and $5 during the summer sale, and there's a metric ton of decent content, it'll be a steal!

Quote from: Pandip;346575It might be relevant to also introduce portraits into the launcher, so that we have a consist pool that all the players are choosing from. A lot of the server's portrait packs are a bit scattered.

Bug Reports / Delivery to Workmill
November 13, 2013, 09:49:57 PM
This delivery quest is effectively broken given current IG events. Maybe add an NPC at the closed refinery who laughs at you, gives you some background story, and then you just get XP.

Unless you read the forums it just looks like a locked building called a workmill with no real explanation.

Bug Reports / Dunwarren Rats Unharvestable
August 16, 2013, 03:03:57 PM
Dunno if this is intended or not, but I figured rat mean was common enough practice in previous incarnations of EFU that it might not be.

When you use a surgical knife on a Dunwarren Rat corpse, you get a message that it won't work with that creature.

Suggestions / Reminder to Complete Prelude Quest
August 16, 2013, 12:53:55 PM
I do the prelude quest and often forget to "complete it" via the placeable afterwards. I think it would be helpful for a little yellow text message to come up in the combat log if you walk away towards the portal while still "taking it."

Thanks for putting some invisibility on these. I think it'll help.

39 - long bangs, vandyke, slight wrinkles - wise druid/ranger
40 - beard and moustache, feathered cap - clerk

Bug Reports / Missing Heads
August 12, 2013, 09:15:37 PM
Hi. I use the EFU launcher and got the heads update recently - been  seeing a lot of missing heads people  walking around Sanctuary lately  though. Anything I should/can do to alleviate this?
