Something exists. My suggestion is to make this far more pronounced.

Having used the spell at lower and higher level PC's the difference is not *that* great, the suggestion is the difference should be huge and very noticable, perhaps even with a different message about a feeling of relief.

Lurking.

Rest assured there are many of us who would wish we could play more but kids and such stop the night-long login's that we used to be able to do.

My Cleric of Vergadain has paid for a Dwarven Brewery to be built main from a bit of trading and asking for lots of coin for Withering Reduction.

It was an xp hit but a great deal of cool stuff came from it.

Not experienced or witnessed this.

It cyclical. The sun sets, the sun rises, yadda, yadda...

In a month a new bunch of PC's will have emerged and beaten up the Conclave and their allies.

The present Conclave PC's have been super-active and aggressive IG, which has been excellent. They deserve their moment in the sun! EFU is great because this wont last too long before someone (or the server) smacks them down and we start all over again.

A couple of tips I once recieved from a DM about getting DM attention and avoiding lulls when few people are about:

Be proactive: Even if its just doing a scripted quest, arrange stuff, get people together IG. See what Alura Hiddencrypts player just did. Arrangement something to go do a less common quest. Tricker quests = more interesting items as well. In fact the very high ones occasionally have better things than much of the DM loot given out!

Have something to do in your concept in the "down times": When the server is quieter, you have hit a higher level or you IG buddies aren't about, have something you can still "do" IG. Examples:

Merchant - Buy Low, Sell High, Get Rich
Spy - Sneak about listening to random conversations
Mapper - Create maps and then sell maps
Archeaologist - Find a Dungeon
Crazy Preaching Cleric - Rant Rave Repeat
Explorer - Get every bit of exploration xp going
Duelist - Challenge every PC you meet to a fight

Seems sensible that a PC would feel something and would be a positive effect.

If for nothing more than instances where you are in withered lands and it runs out and your PC suddenly realises they are withering and wants to get out quickly.

It would also remind me that my PC is unprotected and needs to get out and give a greater "sense" of the withering eating away at my PC.

I agree with the sentiment of limiting multi-class clerics amulets. Advancement should be perhaps *much* slower for non-pure classes.

Suggestions / Withering Reduction and PC Level
November 13, 2012, 08:07:19 PM
Simple suggestion.

Make the amount you get rid of the Withering via Remove Curse spell, much lower for lower level PC Clerics and Wizards, and conversely much higher for higher level PC Clerics and Wizards.

Reasons:

EFU has a great quest system, its easy to get xp up to lvl 7 with tonnes of easily reachable fun quests e.g. "Well quest anyone".

XP increase dramatically decreases from 8 onwards.

Casting Remove Curse at level 8, 9 or 10 with 150xp loss is MUCH more painful than at 5, 6 and 7.

Losing 1500xp as a level 6 or 7 is a bit "meh". Thats a couple runs of a few quests within a screen or two of Mistlocke.

Losing 1500xp on 8 or esepcially 9 or 10 is HUGE and would be lots of risky long quests.

I would have Remove Curse at a neglible level for 1-5, tiny bit more for 6-7, then hugely increasing for 8 and much more again for 9 and 10.

Bug Reports / Holy Symbol
November 10, 2012, 08:34:48 PM
On leveling my cleric his Holy Symbol (and prayerbook) were taken from his inventory and replaced by a "new" starting level Holy Symbol (with only +2 Appraise, rather than the +1AC, + Reflex + Spellslot, + Persuade etc.).

I am presuming (hoping) that this is not intended to happen.
