This song is NOT a curse. There's a problem with the song sheet you receive. My original problem, linked by inevitability, was fixed by a DM (ShadowCharlatan) who replaced it with a sheet for the dirge that did work.

Presumably there are two versions, and one is poop. :(

Bought a song from this NPC for 300gp, the song I received "Dirge of the Tormented" did not function, songbook said "[Songbook] This is not a valid song."

I got another song which did function so it may simply be that particular song doesn't work!
