Good work Perroy, your best character thus far without a doubt!

If we had to make "sense" of our IC letters it would just be frustrating. They are a means to provide further pro-activity or interaction when it is otherwise impossible. I think you can assume that the hundreds of unseen NPCs in our villages or cities take part in this play, and that some of those would be messengers or children that deliver your letters for tiny, commoner style wages.

Adding flavor is still nice, but it should not be enforced via the forums.

The only things I could suggest are to set your CPU affinity to only use one core for NWN. Then you should disable any 3d sounds in the sound options, as 7 had a problem with the way they "emulate" sound effects.

I assume you tried to disable Aero manually at this point, but if not I would do that. The last thing is to -not- use any compatibility modes but to check "run as administrator" in the shortcut properties. Beyond that it may be something specific to your install or, more likely, your video card.

Any chance of something like this yet? The "grind" is worse than ever with the new setting and is literally keeping people from playing at this point. XP has been lowered in the new setting, DM rewards are honestly at a very low point, and those two factors lead to some bit of annoyance when trying to advance.

Combine the slower advancement and lack of RP rewards with a higher      low-end of levels and things just seem out of place. The only systems that have been put in support longevity rather than RP, in contrast with their name, and really do not help in anything since their rewards cut off at 6 or 7 while players are starting at level four after an intro and hitting level five within an hour of creation.

I am not a great roleplayer by far, but I'd certainly rather spend my time being proactive than being forced to spam and grind quests more than ever so I can achieve any success in the world outside of being reactive.

On the other side of things, just because you do not enjoy pvp or even the event you recently experienced does not mean it wasn't "proper RP". People do things that have a consequence and often get angry when they are forced to pay for it somehow.

If your character was part of that mob that took down criminal X's friend, you may very well be held accountable for it and mugged or something. If you are in a faction or association you may be attacked for simply being someone's natural enemy due to their own faction or concept. Even more, you can be attacked just to be robbed, and while that can't really be "fun" in most situations for the victim, the things that come afterward can certainly be fun.

Take things as a grain of salt and move on. Always remember that these villainous characters are fighting with a much higher risk level than most of the people that they are actually forced to fight. If anything is an unspoken rule it's that villains cannot treat their enemies nor the community as they will be treated themselves upon a "loss".

Stoneskin, Barkskin, and things like that have -never- been a disguise and shouldn't really be treated as one, assuming we don't have any rule adjustments coming forth.

I'd have to agree with changing it somehow. Maybe drop the XP scaling back to EFU:A style for a while and see how it works out, thus providing everyone with an already balanced scale of reward for their current character level? ;)

Suggestions / Website format

In all honesty, the main site is overly clustered and annoying. Finding anything specific is a hassle (such as Wizard GSF changes, mechanics changes that are lumped together in random posts here and there) and really proves to be disorienting for even a veteran player. I can only imagine it's far worse for someone new.

Is there a chance we could have something more simple on the main page such as -

Home page and summary of the setting
A detailed information page of current DM factions and associations
A forum link
EFUSL link on the main page
a MECHANICS link that lists changes, perks, companions, familiars, and shapes

The Blog is nearly useless and no one cares to update it anyway, just do away with it in favor of the EFUSL link. Furthermore, mechanics changes are often not documented on EFU and spread about by word of mouth. A new player will never know, for example, that a weapon with +1 (or any) elemental damage can no longer accept Darkfire or Flame weapon. This is an undocumented change (although...pointless) that only active or veteran players know of  currently.
