QuoteDesperate Rager

Some  fear to approach their own mortality. The Desperate Rager, however,  relishes such a moment. He is a battle-born warrior  who thrives in the narrow breadth between life and death, his might  surging along with his lifeblood. The fear of death is made manifest in a  different way than most with this warrior, driving him to  unimaginable feats of strength and prowess that inspire courage in his  allies and evoke dread in his foes.

Rage has different effects depending on health level when triggered.
Duration: 7 rounds + cha modifier
Rage - Uninjured: +1str/+1con
Rage - Barely Injured: +2str/+2con
Rage - Injured: +3str/+3con
Rage - Badly Wounded: +4str/+4con, +10% movespeed, +2 vampiric regen
Rage - Near Death: +6str/+6con/+2cha, +20% movespeed, +3 vampiric regen, red aura

Charisma modifiers to str/con/vamp regen while raging.
Level 1 rage is capped at +1/+1/+1
Level 4 rage is capped at +2/+2/+2
Level 8 rage is capped at +3/+3/+3
Not sure about the balance but the bonuses are supposed to reflect the inherent risk in being at that particular health level.

After having been crushed a few times by our archrival Genteel Jim, the Stygians were in bad shape and bad spirits. Master Tau Masemba makes note of this and swaggers up, saying that he'll join us for a bit in whatever we do. So of course we decide to do orcs. What followed was a low-supply high octane quest of unforgettable fun. One of those moments where the game world comes completely alive.

Seeing the assembly and evolution of the Black Parish, spearheaded by Bishop Coolidge and Morthel Seregeth. After the end of the Parish, watching Margulis Baldassare assemble the pieces for his undead creation, turning Bishop Coolidge's corpse into a single-minded animatronic zombie..."Must exterminate!"

A huge fight where the Stygians brought fire and steel to the wildlings and Stargazers, only to be soundly defeated. Even though I was on he losing side, I immensely enjoyed that pvp and still remember it to this day.

Bridge fight; never forget. No more words need said.

Fighting a low-lvl halfling Stygian as a flayer of the rat tribe. We both couldn't have been more than lvl 5, but we fought for ages.

Comital War. Playing a mostly useless bard who ran around healing others and being sorrowful, only to be stomped by ruby horseman. So many cool events in this war.

Blood Hovel. All of the awesome stuff that Germain would do in there. Visions, champions, sacrifices. So many memorable happenings in there with the Blood Legion. One that comes to mind was allowing the Elven Warband into our temple, and greeting them with ritual bloodshed.

And many more...

Sweet character. I was very fond of the cigar chomping face of the Ill Companions. One of those PCs that totally came alive for me as every interaction with him was immersive and real.

Her name was Etenesh and she helped raise me and my siblings since birth. She was like a second mother to us, and lived with us for most of our lives. My family eventually moved to America and she stayed in my home country. About seven years ago, she became ill with breast cancer.

Our efforts to bring her to America in order to give her the best care were unsuccessful. Knowing that her life was in the hands of this third world country's underdeveloped health care system was terrible. She eventually succumbed to the cancer. I still carry many regrets, the least of which is not being there in her final moments.

Tweaking the prereqs might be a good idea. In terms of removing them completely, I don't think the merits outweight the faults.

Bad to the bone. I had a blast in the early days with Remus, and it was nice to see his development later on, going from a dutiful manservant to a badass consort. Cool stuff man.

EfU doesn't have hakpaks, technically. Just overrides. I wonder the same thing though.
