If powerquesting is an issue than a viable solution is to make quests harder to survive and levels harder to gain. Seems like it would make a pretty effective deterent

As someone said above grinding is an inevitable nature of the game, however I think that being said there is always room for improvement when it comes to the activities for which you get XP and gold. Instead of repeating the same quests over and over again maybe add more activities which feel like your having an impact on the world. Here's an example; caravans through the underdark to outposts which deliver supplies. Player's are tasked with delivering these supplies and defending them from attack. Should they be sucesssful Sanctuary as a whole will recieve gold which than can be treated as "resources" which can be used for political ends. Or a bounty system which has a different monster every month which encourages players to go out in groups to look for it. More dynamic content like the examples here make the game feel less mmoish and quest grindy because it makes players feel like they are actually doing something which has an impact on the world.

I really hope to god this isn't happening on EFU, already happened on CoA essentially and it pretty much effectively killed the server.

alright I didn't know Guild Wars 2 was a graphically demanding game compared to what's out there these days. Let me set the bar lower than for a laptop; NWN2

Quote from: IRemember;419212Do you want a laptop because you want to be able to play games in various locations, move around and not be stuck to playing in one area, or do you want a laptop because you think it will be cheaper?
Both in this case.

Quote from: IRemember;419212A $400 desk top is not going to run Guild Wars 2 either.  If you expand your budget a bit though, $600 to $700 can build you a gaming PC that will do that.  Do you want to buy a pre-built one, or are you open to building it yourself?
Now that does surprise me since I have been doing research on building gaming rigs and a lot of the stuff I have been reading says you can put together a decent machine for the price of essentially a next generation console. I wouldn't build a laptop but I would be open to prebuilding a desktop

My apologies to the EFU community for overstepping my bounds on this issue.

I disagree; with what I am reading it has a high degree of customization and even says you will be able to use their scripting engine not to mention invent whole custom rulesets. Furthermore with the kickstarter depending on what level you opt you may have some very real say when it comes to how this game develops. I would at least recommend donating enough so you get acess to the backer forums which in turn will give you some input.

I think its the NWN community best hope at the moment. $50 to get acess to the beta though I think the early modder program needs a bit more. Would be good if one of EFU's skilled builders decided to blaze the trail *hint hint*

Quote from: Siren;379906Good news, but I'm a bit skeptical. I wonder if they'll allow you to moderate your "shards"... such as banning players and the sort. Even if does allow the use of a toolset and DMing, then there'll be the matter of whether the gameplay's actually good and conducive to RP...
Yes, got this answer from a developer himself yesterday

Some more interviews from other sites with the developers

Looks pretty darn promising. As soon as forums get set up over there I reccomend we establish a presence so that hopefully we will be able to have  a say in how it develops having lots of experience as a community of being a player run shard.
