A cleric having a free summon outside their normal spell slots and that  acts like a familiar would just be too unbalancing in my opinion.

I don't know... every cleric has their 'perks', and the death domain doesn't have very much besides the death domain avatar.  I mean, look at what some of the other domains get by comparison.

Had some of the best times I've had on NwN when we ruled the roost in the docks.  Harvey died before his time!

 Not many folk can say they ended their character to something quite so epic.  What can I say, I died doing what I love - chasing the dragon!

Oh come on, did you ever see anyone use it seriously as a weapon BEFORE the change?

I hardly think that setting 30/30 stealth as your 'bar' is fair, as that includes a rather huge investment in feats, dexterity, and items, and pretty much destroys any combat capability your character has.  We've all seen the incredibly limited use that a stealth built rogue has on even the simplest of quests on EfU, as most quests either require decent saves (for prevention of poisons, spells), or have creatures that are immune to sneak attack.
