Quote from: Meldread;189727Scrying was placed in for the Spellguard in the Underdark, but is currently not functioning / working for the surface.  It was also, if I am not mistaken, mostly keyed to the faction.  I've yet to find a scripting DM who wants to touch the scrying script with a ten foot pole. >_>

Massive spot / listen bonuses aren't that big of a deal when you have to consider the short duration of Clairaudience/clairvoyance.  If you're a level 10 caster it's only going to last for one minute.  This means it is only useful in situations where you suspect there is someone stealthing nearby, assuming of course you bothered to memorize it.

Also, placing that in perspective, wizards and sorcerers, don't have spot or listen as class skills.

Forty minutes for extended see invis might be a bit much, I agree, but un-extended at a caster level 10 it's only the equivalent of one extended see invis without GSF: Divination.

It is a big deal when the checks are made every 6 seconds or so and you also get nice bonuses for other things, not to mention the ease of using gear that has bonuses on it. Even without it being a class skill you can get it pretty high without spells, and amazingly high with them.

The last statement you made is just a loop of nonsense. Obviously if it's not extended, but doubled, it's the same as someone else extending it. There is no reason for a see invis spell to last through your rest-cycle every time without worry without using a more powerful spell-slot for it.

I'm pretty sure that massive spot / listen bonuses aren't a good idea. Forty minutes of extended see invis isn't a good idea either if you ask me.

I'd like to see it get some bonuses but definitely not those two things. I'm sure there is something cool that can be added in eventually from PnP style things that aren't in nwn, or some variation of your other ideas.

Quote from: Drakill Tannan;188970It does. When Kaida casted ball lighting in a small room, she killed half the PCs and left very wounded the tohers, so it can be very powerfull with the perk.

No, it does not. The perk triggers once per target. If four people are hit by ball lightning, four of the perk effects will go off (same effect as a scint sphere or lightning bolt hitting each target), but not 9 of them.

The spell you're talking about is scintillating sphere. Ball lightning is a bunch of tiny lightning balls that function and move in a similar way to magic missle.

It's strong, but due to the multiple ( nine ) independent saves and small bursts of damage, it really is still less effective than an empowered lightning bolt on a single target if you average it out. People are quite simply going to make some of those saves and the damage range is rather spread out.

You're looking at 18-108 damage. The average of that being only slightly higher than empowered sphere or bolt yet with multiple saves to further reduce it. If someone has 5/- resistance, which is very common from low levels to high levels, it pretty much destroys the spell's damage.

As one with Nature said, we just had a fight and he is a low HP wizard that was very difficult to take down since he naturally made a lot of the saves!

I've had no problems destroying quests as an evoker for a long time now and that was even a small part of why I created the character, to have fun blasting shit away with lightning spells.

There are already tons of the things you mentioned that drop on quests and it's often to the point that they are left behind, perhaps you just had bad luck with it. Even since around level 5 (fireball, ect) I was able to do pretty well with evocations so long as I restricted myself a little and used them when it was actually needed. I'm able to last all the way through Orcs2 or other lengthy quests in the same fashion.

The key thing to remember is that a Wizard provides a lot of general utility to a quest to fill in the gaps, from buffs, disabling spells, or damage spells, they all help in their own way and you just need to find the right balance for it.

With all that said, I wouldn't mind seeing the odd trinket or wand with a charge or three of level 3 spells like fireball, scint sphere, haste, or similar things that are restricted to arcane classes.

I'm down for anything that helps sorcerers and isn't bloodmage (read, very difficult to earn).

Has been suggested before actually and may even be in the works already (in some form). I'd personally rather it weren't restricted to vessels, but having them as an option would be cool.

Capricious I heard your PC on MD literally wore a CEP stylized thong, and her name was Breeze Dawnstar, but was colloquially referred to as "Breeze Thongstar". Can you confirm this?
So when I responded he says he didn't want it public.
ROFL
LOL
Is this true?
Lol...yes, that was a sort of inside joke, but yes, I won't deny it.
