Yes and no. While pvp is always a necessary evil the fact of the matter remains EFU and even EFUA has always been a cutthroat place. I don't even like pvp, but I certainly find the constant danger a enjoyable rp theme to the server.

Introductions and Group Management / cool faction

cool faction

I've only seen this faction from the outside looking in, but they are a very close knit fun group.

Plus best of all you'll have something to do other then stand outside kingsman all day with idle time :)

General Discussion / It's not always you

It's not always you

I'm going to just post my two cents though I realize this issue is done and over with.

NWN is not the newest game, the mere fact many servers keep such high populations is for the most part the game world. (I assume, I can't imagine everyone here just adores the graphics to death :P)

Sometimes though it's important to remeber it's not always you it's just the vibe of the server. For instance right now nature is really popular. Now some would say, but I made a sorc, shouldn't I get love. Yes, you should but if eight nature players are on and one sorc..I mean it's praeto's law, you put your time where the 80% is, not the 20%. Now other times (I know from experience) evil schemers were everywhere, other times clerics. Now if you walk up, to a group of druids, and you are a evil cleric or a devout paladin, they will not welcome you as family. It's not that they arn't friendly, or that you are unpopular it's just the game world at the moment. It always changes (or at least I think it does.)

However this does not mean EFU, is not friendly. I have yet to see anyone make a hello post and not get at least a handful of replies and a few "Oh hey that's cool, pm me and my char can help you out."

To sum it up, I'm just saying don't mistake IG friendliness with ooc friendliness. I still think this server is far friendlier then say Arelith or even Forgotten Realms of Cormyr where you can wander for hours without anyone saying, anything.

As for DM's, I think others would be nice but I still think Qualitiy over Quanitity is key.

To the application point, the dms are not hermits (at least I don't think so), if they think you are a awesome player and creating cool stories, they may invite you to the club or pm you. If all you do though is general quests they prolly won't.

Again just my two cents of worthlessness :)

General Discussion / well

well

Well my wireless adapter did go down, and I fixed it so now I again have internet, as does, our other house comp. I can connect to any gameworld, I just can't stay connected.

At the moment there does not seem to be anyway to tell it, connect to this server regardless, so I seem to be stuck.

The firewall of my router dosn't seem a issue, and the internet works fine with pings and the rest of it outside of nwn.

I connect to other games on gamespy just fine. I can only assume it's some confusion between nwn master server and my own wireless router.

General Discussion / memorable

memorable

Honestly I think all the advice in the world dosn't matter, I've had alot of characters and almost wrote this big long thing about different chars i've had and what they achieved. It does not matter though, only one thing matters.

IF PEOPLE WANT YOU TO BE MEMORABLE.

Hate to say it, but regardless of how great your char unless people want to remeber it, it won't be remebered.

Two examples briefly.

I had one char who hit all of Caddies memorable check marks, at that time was highly memorable, and even did some mildy important changing events. He lead a group, had a clear agenda, posters, well defined enemies, took risk, and was betrayed, beheaded in a dm event/pc ambush. At that time, I thought he was highly memorable.

I had another character, who did ABSOUTELY nothing, short of sit in the back of taverns and pretend he had all this inside information. He had no groups, he had no real power, he never took risk,  he had no enemies.  He did nearly everything solo, where as the above did everything in groups.

Yet it is the second character that people remeber to this day. You can have Dm attention, a pc faction, friends, enemies, intersting concepts and agenda and at that moment in time have everyone know you. In the end though it is up to the players about what types of characters they personally find memorable.

For instance, I found recently, Kethra Marsk (Sp?), no clue who played her, highly memorable. Now all I saw her do alot was start shit for no apparent reason, but it was amusing to watch. :)

General Discussion / Connection woes
December 21, 2009, 07:16:20 PM
So of late I have had a great deal of connection woes. Basically that everytime I log in I am being dropped quite quickly. I have tried other servers and it is the same issue, the mmo I play works fine but for whatever reason nwn suddenly does not.

I have scoured the net for answers. I use a Belkin wireless router, and my understanding is that for whatever reason it cannot forward enough ports for nwn so my only real option is to try and turn my dynamic ip into a static ip. I've tried this twice and each time the process works but I can't seem to log my computers back onto the net without going back to a dynamic.

I'd be willing to keep trying but the thing is I played on efu just fine for a solid 2-3 months with no issue until recently. I thought at first maybe it was just my service provider but now it's been 2 weeks of solid dropping so i'm sure it's something on my end.

I'm open to suggestions but till I find some magical soultion I just don't seem to have any nwn luck.
