Against on the basis of that this quest is to challenge your rogue powas   -  precisely.

And the quest is hard enough for the reward to be NEAT and something you can KEEP and HAVE.

At least, IMHO.

As for powergaming instincts, tell that to those who do this quest to only get 1 gem and 500 XP the quest offers, not to those who get 9 gems most of the runs :>

Suggestions / Bilby's Challenge
November 19, 2009, 11:14:43 AM
... just a thought, after the recent frustration - could we have the POTIONS in the reward list:

 1) removed totally from the list of rewards?

 Or

 2) removed from the list of rewards of medium/good quality stuff at least?

 Or

 3) added a dialogue option of choosing whether you want potions, or a random trinket as a reward?

There is nothing more frustrating than getting the Challenge done flawlessly, getting all the gems, and then getting 10 invis/seeing pots as a reward.... when there's all those fancy lootz he can give.

ESPECIALLY that you can take this quest only five times.

Bug Reports / Clayman an' Robbin'.

Uhm, so .. THe Clay Man quest is bugged, weirdly.

Here is what happened in chronological order for the purpose of figuring out the bug!

- Someone else starts this quest.
- Someone else gets the clay from the patches
- I start the quest
- I get the clay from the patches
- Someone else finishes the quest meanwhile, and my journal updates along (at least it claims so, nothing changes)
- I give back my clay - quest closes, but I get FLAGGED FOR CHEATING.

It happened to me earlier, that if two people took this quest together, when the first one gave back the clay to close the quest, the second one, eventhough the quest was still active in the journal, couldn't get anything from the clay patches, as if never starting the Q.

P.S.  Had a very similar situation with the Physician quest a few times, if two people took the quest at the same time, then when the first one closed it, it auto-closed for the 2nd one too.
