I know this is a suggestion thread rather than a discussion thread, but I'd just like to point out the likely reasons behind the suggestion for buffing this perk:

1. Elves. Lots of them around (though thankfully less in EfU than on most servers) and they are all immune to sleep.
2. Ghostly Visage is a staple spell that makes anyone immune to Sleep.
3. Protection from Evil makes anyone immune to a Dream Eater's Sleep spell.
4. This one is thematic, but it's rather strange that one would have to put someone into an -enchanted- sleep to be able to eat their dreams. The allure if the dream eater is the fact that there are things out there that can get you when you're most vulnerable - when you're sleeping. Allowing this to affect resting PCs will create temptation for Dream Eater PCs, as well as inject a healthy level of paranoia into the server when it comes to resting around others.

Thank you goate :) I'm glad SOMEONE APPRECIATES ME! jk. But yes, that was the thing. The level of isolation made it very difficult to move anything forward from his end. Sad to see him go, myself. Hoping Krygin stays alive. lol.

lol gravekeeper - I don't even know who you play and how you knew him!

At any rate, it's just time to throw in the towel with him. I would love to keep him around, and if someone else wanted to take him off my hands I wouldn't mind giving him away (although they better play him right!) but my circumstances as a player are not as conducive to making Kosj into a productive PC as they used to be. ;)

Quote from: Siren;371790...the battle song kicked in, and one specific "veteran" player turned back and started running. I found it to be pure metagame but regardless, I acknowledged the behaviour IC and proceeded to run after her while yelling that it's not prudent to go back like that... She sprinted in heavy armour around the entire zone, aimlessly, disregarding my attempts at roleplay, until she stumbled into the group she was looking for, who were now on their way back. To make it more hilarious, the moment she spots them she changes to walk mode and carries on roleplaying with them, never stopping for a second to acknowledge my character.

I would say tl; dr but Siren's post was longer and we got plenty who read that! And I think maybe some of you guys need to read this, too.

For starters, shame on any of you who do this. If you have to, I strongly recommend you turn your music OFF in order to prevent yourself from doing this. As the player of a character on this server, you have an OBLIGATION to act in a way that immerses not only yourself, but all others around you in this setting to the best of your ability. On THIS server, of all servers, it is a GUARANTEE that if you do it will be more rewarding for everyone, yourself included.

Now, Siren has described the perpetrator in this situation as a "veteran" player. I might infer from that that a "veteran" player has come to understand that interacting with certain other PCs is more likely to draw the attention of DMs than interacting with, say, Siren's PC. This is ridiculous and, if true, even more shameful.

I know I'm coming on sort of hard with this post, but I feel as though if we have people using EfU as a medium for the sole purpose to running with their buds and killing things together with their fantasy-alter-ego-of-the-moment, disregarding (as Siren put it) attempts by others to roleplay in the process, it severely detracts from the quality and value of EfU. I may be a lowly player and I may be mostly unknown, but This server is MY treasure too, and every time someone does something like that I feel personally offended.

***Siren, I applaud you. I have witnessed behavior like this on several occasions myself, and to be honest, I do not acknowledge it IC anymore. If a player decides to pull something like this in favour of acting as their character might in a given situation, I no longer have any interest in interacting with them. I suddenly find their presence tedious instead of enriching.

Of course, Siren, I understand that we can't play police and we shouldn't have to and even if we tried it would just find another outlet, so my advice is to let it go, pretend it didn't happen, and distance yourself as well as you can (exceptional RP taken into consideration) from the players you come to realize cannot properly play their characters. (And this is what I see it as.)
I have no doubt that you will find people who are worth your time as an exceptional roleplayer. Don't feel like you have to submit to any sort of OOC behavior in order to experience the server fairly. If you EVER feel that way, we as your fellow players have failed you.

I'm going to end this post now or I'll end up going on forever/burning myself out of playing here. I'm sure anyone who reads this much gets the point, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

For instance, kobold meat is generally very bad and makes anyone who eats it sick. :P Kobolds themselves have actually been known, on the rare occasion they lay siege on an enemy, to starve them of any source of food except kobold corpses in order to force them to eat kobold, knowing full well it'll drastically weaken them :) Hard to fight when you can't stop vomiting.

While that makes a lot of sense and I would prefer this change as well, I'm not sure it's mechanically feasable. Being silenced is sort of a no-go for ANY chance of getting off a spell in NWN, while the way the system allows people to get around arcane spell failure, which can be given in degrees and thus still allows a chance for success, is still spell.

^I second this. And third this. Two thumbs up to the poster above me.
((I died twice in a row on a level four sorcerer a couple of days ago. She had a maxed skill in climbing, and the ledge was barely taller than she was. She was using a climbing claw, too, if that makes a difference. Both times, I believe she was at full health. Both times, she died pretty much instantly. What I took from it? "Rocks fall, everyone dies."
That's not a very satisfying ending. Quite random. lol.

^That's the plan.... if I don't get a hearing on the suggestion. Which is to say, it really depends on if the team considers something like this needful of an app, or if they decide Ibrandul should just be given the green light for nature, as per my suggestion.

To Pup, I initially wondered at that, too, but as far as I have seen, everything on this forum that has anything to do with the alleged connection between Shar and Ibrandul OOCly has suggested that, for all intents and purposes Ibrandul is still alive and well.

Beyond that, I did consider this heavily and on a personal note, I am very interested in playing an Ibrandulite druid for exactly that (possible) reason. Imagine! What happens, exactly, if my druid ever finds out through IG roleplay and such that Ibrandul is dead and Shar is wearing his face? Think of the recercussions that would have on him. Were his abilities ever really druidic? Would his loss of faith rob him of his power? Would he be able to hold his head together and focus on the Ibrandul that was, instead of rejecting the Ibrandul that is? I know it gets messy, but I think that a) it'll probably never even come up in the span of any EFU druid's life, and b) if it does, it'll only add to the tangled mess of awesome that is EFU:Revelations

(See what I did there at the end? With Revelations? XD I can't help myself :) )

Bug Reports / Rotbringer undead creation
March 05, 2014, 05:45:12 PM
Hello! Upon checking out the perks, I've found that the undead created by the killing of a suitable creature by a Rotbringer creates a shambling corpse that is hostile. This is sort of counterproductive and, since it is a passive and constant aura, sort of hard to avoid.

I don't know if this is unintended, but if it is intentional, I'd like to suggest that the undead created are the same as "released" undead - that is, hostile to everyone except other released undead, the rotbringer, and the rotbringer's minions.
