These changes are so slick. I've now done a bunch of easy and a few easy quests with them. I love how it makes your party stick together. My one complaint is losing people on transitions but I'm sure I'll get used to that.

A.) Loot inflation is sweet, and not bad at all, and just means that maybe someday a normal group of people might brave the underdark.

B.) If there is a problem with ridiculous loot on PCs that have not earned/deserve it then I am confident the DM team can find a way to address it.

C.) Adding some wizard/ sorcerer / bard spell slot loot in the same regularity as good fighter / ranger / rogue loot would be excellent.

D.) None of you should've gotten offended by my comments because I am sure all of you are playing well kitted, active, and interesting PCs that deserve everything they get!

E.) There is loot inflation? I had not seen.

I think that you should first address the problem of 'loot inflation' which will always happen and is not a bad thing. Yet the best way to do this is not by issuing some absurd cap, but by killing off high level PCs that do nothing risky and accumulate tons of stuff in events where their bags cannot be recovered.

I have firebranded many orcs and doing 20+ damage to 10 orcs is not scoffable. In fact I did not even realize they had fire immunity as they seemed to take plenty of damage!

I sort of like hunting down wand/potion merchants to get supplies. It is a skill of inventory and consumable management that I am fairly good at!

Cloud is quite good, but most of the affects can be mitigated by good saves/gear, so I do not see a problem with its limited range.

Gedlee's indeed should get a range increase. Simply compare it against Sound Burst and the ways in which it is lacking are numerous indeed!

Scint Sphere really should have the range of a fireball.

If we're changing electrical spells then it would be nice for:

1.) Lightning bolt to not need a target
2.) Gedlee's Electric Loop to be given a decent range
3.) Scintillating Sphere to have range from 30 to 40, which is the same range as fireball.

It is fine! Wizards should get some wands/scrolls/potions and always be ready to rumble in pvp and pve. The last two times I have gotten into pvp while playing a wizard I had no spells and it is safe to say that only consumables were enough to win the battle. Do not toss away harpy rings!

I think I disagree with everyone here accept talir and alyssara. There is a huge deal of rubbish here! Direct damage spells are not that effective on quests. So what? Evocation still has some excellent spells.

"Wizards are boring to play if all you do is buff people..." is the general theme of this thread from what I can see and it had an easy solution. Don't just buff people. Buff one person and use the rest of your spells (probably quite a few!) for excellent spells that can turn a battle. My four favorite evocation spells are darkness, shelgarns, cloud of bewilderment and empowered lightning bolts. Each of these spells has a huge affect on any battle and the first three stick around for awhile. I believe you could easily keep darkness or shelgarns up for nearly every encounter on even high level quests!

Having scrolls on hand as well to deal with particularily difficult enemies is also invaluable. Wiping away smug mort NPCs that gobble potions by using dispels is very enjoyable. Crushing shadowsheild is very exciting! Surely a wizard that uses no supplies or is poor is about as useful as a fighter in the same situation, that is to say not very. I think to often wizards get to high level, get poor, and find the experience boring, before quitting the PC. This is their fault not the classes!

It is not just the exp that you gain as a level ten that needs be balanced but the considerable exp a level ten gives to others. It is easy enough to get a map for the second part.

Goos Characters are: Terio - older suave moustached warrior and bard, Daniel Tane - young charismatic fighter with bastard sword, Mordor - Duergar fighter, Juline - eyepatched former quartermaster now forced to serve drinks too...

Villians: Lt Tiderious - half-drow fallen into decadence and drunkeness after betraying the tigereyes and collecting the bounty on them, surly drunken former tiger-eye betayers about 10 of these

The scene starts with the good three Terio, Tane, Mordur, donning the tigereye uniform and compng out of hiding in the back alleys of lower, and marching to the bar where Tidellious has taken up residence. People bolt their doors and run in fear.

The three survey the disgraceful unkempt lot that the betrayers have become march into the basement and have a tense standoff with the LT before he admits to his part on the betrayel.

Wild fight. Terio kills Lt. They find evidence of betrayel.

They walk up, flash LTs head, and Terio declares Tane the new Captain of the Tigereyes, scoops up Juline, and marches off into the darkness.

The final death of the tigereyes -- Howland can tell you more but the scene is a tense accusation, standoff over lt tyderious's role in the fall of the tigereyes + betrayel of the captain, then a sweet fight where terio menthur proves victorious, leaves the tigereyes to tane and escapes to surface with babe in arm. Get details + characters from howland but I am convinced it would be a tremendous single chapter. Gotta run!

Going to Siberia to seek the nwnx gurus in their ice fortress and ask them a single favor. Be back in a month. Pray for my success.
