Well played, wern! Very impressive! I gotta agree with Gwydion, I didn't believe you were playing an evil PC at first but you were good at it!

Brings back so many memories.

I've been able to break the AI chasing after me when I'm invisible and had been heard. Usually it involves running around a corner to break line-of-sight (as weird as that may be).

General Discussion /

When I first heard about House Sharboneth as a faction, I imagined that it was a combination of the Watch and Spellguard.

There's the obvious on-the-street law enforcement aspect of the Watch but also the we-run-this-damn-place attitude, mindset, and subtle social control of the Spellguard.

A non-martial combat class such as wizards have an obvious detriment to enforcing the law on the streets. But I think they could easily fill many other possible niches. Even an army, for example, is not completely populated by front-line soldiers: there are clerks, information gatherers, engineers, bureaucrats. A noble house would naturally have its spies, diplomats, regional-local representatives, and so on.

Except, of course, for the DMs to take my suggestion into consideration...

Bad luck, yes, but this is one of the situations where the rather unfair situation can be avoided.

When you die, one of the things you can read in the fugue is something along the lines of "If you died during a transition from AI monsters, please notify a DM so that the monsters can be moved away from the transition".

I'd say this qualifies.

Bug Reports / Brewing shield potions.
March 19, 2009, 02:19:17 AM
The brewer's elixir says you can brew a potion of shield for 80 gold pieces. If you cast shield on a potion bottle however, it won't brew one. Could the brewer's elixir be fixed so future potion brewers don't embarrass themselves? =P

Also, the crafter's sceptor says shield can be crafted into a wand. I don't have the money to test this so perhaps a DM could double check this as well?

Suggestions / Chickens

If a character attacks three chickens, a horde of chickens should spawn nearby, go hostile, and attack said character.

Bug Reports / Bugged Crate in Sand Spider Quest
March 16, 2009, 03:07:40 AM
There's a crate in the level 2-4 sand spider quest in the docks area that has an apparently bugged crate. Sometimes it won't close and stays open, meaning that the loot inside won't respawn/reset. It's the crate second from the left of the four when you approach them.

I recently took a raft trip with some others to the Southern Shores on the way towards the elven ruins quest. When we arrived I was the first to load off the raft and that's when 2 (maybe 3, it was a little hard to tell due to my camera angle at the time) orc rangers a couple of turns down the sandy path instantly began shooting arrows at me and turning me into a pincushion. I was already down and bleeding by the time anybody else from my party on the raft loaded and I was in the fugue before anybody knew what was going on.

So, I'd like to suggest that the location of and type (i.e. those with long range attacks) be looked over in the area and revised so that something so unlucky doesn't happen to anybody else (or me again).

Bug Reports / Cannot Scribe Greater Magic Weapon
March 04, 2009, 04:54:20 AM
The arcana inkwell says it'll cost 225 GP to scribe the scroll. However, trying to scribe the scroll gives me a "Failure - Item Creation Not Successful" message.

I had the money, plenty of spare XP, and the parchment.

I spoke with ExileStrife about it and he thinks the blueprint--or something like that-- might have been removed because a standard Bioware GMW scroll would cast at level 15 (obviously overpowered).

So, I suppose this should be fixed somehow for the scribing to not produce an overpowered version of the scroll or, if that can't be done, the arcana inkwell should state that the spell cannot be scribed.
