Still very sorry to some people who had a few things with my character, but I'll be forced to stay away or with a very limited gaming time for the next couple of weeks.

Just a head's up to a few people who had some things planned with my character, I'll be away for the next two weeks, hopefully a little less. So, if you need anything urgent, sorry.

Echoing with the other players I can say that Sayra was an amazingly fun character to interact with and she'll be missed, as there were a lot of things for her to get involved.

Great work Peeper and good luck with your next character.

I would like to see this suggestion implemented not just for quest effectiveness but to encourage other practices with summoned creatures.

For instance, it'd be really cool to see a necromancer summon a couple of spirits to guard or watch a door while he's having a private conversation inside.

One can say that the character could use a familiar for this example, but familiars don't have the flavour and the cool factor that EfU's customized summons have.

I hope I'll be back next saturday. Sorry.

Just a wierd line of thought but I don't think that any build should be justified by the way that you role play the character. But the way that you role play your character should always be supported by the build.

Does this makes any sense or am I being oddly redundant here?

Just a random thought, but I think the primary goal of the Guild should be focused on, for what I understand, was the "Seeker's philosophy".

As the Seekers dedicated their time and resources scouting and searching ways back to the surface, to escape from the Underdark, the Magister's Guild could be directed towards finding ways to revert the magical properties that brought people to the Ziggurat to ecape the Archipelago, instead of acting as a political force to consolidate it's establishment here. I believe it'd give the wizards involved a less "bureaucratic" appearance.

In my uncreative, unimaginative and completely out of place opinion, I don't see this PrC as being coherent to the supposedly intense studying time that most wizards should have.

The way I see it, it's more likely that, let's say, a bard becomes an Archeologist to dive deep down a certain ruin, to find tomes, relics or whatever, to bring back for the wizard\scholar to study and learn new things, etc.

Well, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but Snot, considering the two arguments you point out against it (And I understand theres more, but I just can't see them, I'm sorry), I don't know how it wouldn't be helpful.

I mean, I think it sounds easier to get a DM to actually see such section of the forums than to PM a letter for a random DM asking for a reply or a direction towards another DM just to send the same letter. Not to mention that if a DM has his mind full on another thing, he wouldn't need to be bothered with such PMs. Of course when you know which DM is the responsible or is running a certain thing you'll direct your PM to him, but sometimes you just don't. Well, I don't.

And about sending a letter for both PC and NPC, well, it's really easy to PM a letter for a PC, because you know exactly who to PM it to. So, you could post something in this private section and PM it to said PC whitout a problem.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how it wouldn't affect positively the practicality of contacting random NPCs.

Well, I will tell what works for me: Create a story for your character and play as if you were reading a tale, that you can only imagine the final, but have no idea about all the possibles twists that the story has.

Elaborate a really detailed background, and an impossible quest for your character to achieve, as the first chapters of this tale. Then persue it relentlessly even if theres absolutely no way you will ever be able to accomplish it.

And sometimes the best part of a tale can be the random conversations where we get to know more about the protagonist, and not the one where he is fighting dragons and monsters.

I don't know, IMHO a small quest given by the NPC atop of the ziggurat to send you to a populated direction, like the Kingsman, could be more appealing and help to stay in character, whitout all the bureaucracy of OOC dialogues.

I mentioned "helpful players" because of your tells actually. Your offerings of help were very nice and warmth, but I just didn't had enough time to play with you at that moment.

But my point is related to the fact that the spawing point for new characters is to close to extremely dangerous areas. A character running away from some of these areas could lead monsters to the ziggurat's spawing point, as an unadvised new character could get killed in the first transition that she makes after arriving just because she went in the wrong direction. It's not something that happened to me specificaly, thanks to your advice, but I thought that I should voice this concern nonetheless. But hell, maybe it's just me being paranoid!

Suggestions / Letters for NPCs.
January 27, 2009, 06:27:01 PM
I was thinking that maybe it'd be cool to have a private section in the forums for PCs to send letters IC for NPCs (DMs).

Sometimes something in the Correspondence can be revealing about the character or what he is doing, so, to facilitate private communication with NPCs that are difficult for the players to know to which DM they should adress a private message, it could be useful to have a section that only the player and the DM team are allowed to see.

General Discussion / A little concern.
October 12, 2008, 11:30:53 AM
Okay, I'm relatively new to the server and perhaps I'm overstepping here, but I'd like to voice one concern that I have so far.

Isn't a little bit too unforgiven on new characters ?

You start your level 2 character at the center of an area, and it's pretty confusing to know where to go from there. Two of four possible areas to go around the main ziggurat area are potentially dangerous and although the signs do say "caution" I find it hard to keep track of the day\night cycle, as the night isn't as dark as expected (And I suppose other people would too), so it seems almost a certainty to me that a lot of new players with new characters die too early before ever getting to know the server, and the frustration ensued could turn people away.

I'd be turned away already if wasn't for the helpful and friendly players that tried to help me out, but I suppose not everyone is as persistent as I am.

I don't know if this is a problem that I, alone, am concerned about, but maybe you should give some thought on this. And I'd like to make it clear that this isn't a critic, as I don't know if the setting is meant to be so unforgiven, and even if it's just me that find it unforgiven, but it's a concern about how the sword wielding skeleton sends a welcoming message to new characters walking around the areas right next to the ziggurat.
