Recently returned from a long hiatus, specifically for EFU, Loving the new setting, and all the possibilities this server has for the creative and talented people that make this place their choice spot of gaming leisure.

I'm sure it's still impossible, but i just checked and they didn't actually make a new item shortspear. They changed the base spear to being a one handed weapon, much like EFU changed the quarterstaff to a double weapon. This way, weapon focus and such still worked. They did however, make a pike or greatspear weapon, and add that as the two handed version.

I believe he's referring to the alarm spell, as opposed to ward area. since yes, a 1/day ward area item would be very powerful as no one could scry you if you just use it before every secret meeting.

Alarm however would be more reasonable, but I think some quests periodically dropping items that have a charge or two of alarm would be reasonable enough.

Either way, I simply feel the lack of such items makes having a wizard in your nefarious crew all the more useful. As opposed to a bunch of blade-wielding toughs, or a sorceror with 6 or more level 4 spell slots to crush quests with. (Unsure how many people actually have six, just making a random example that sorcerors generally have more spell slots.)

Smiley, the only character that could entertain us all on our 45 minutes of riding the rafts. Half-breed super shark Stygian conspiracy theory.

Always loved the fact the only thing you could trust him to do was somehow get out of following through with his promises.

This thread and discussion has definitely been educational, and I feel the majority of us could benefit from some guidelines on alignment being posted and stickied somewhere. I'd generally write something up, but my eloquence is lacking compared to the way some of you can write, so I leave it to you, good sirs.

Well, the whole point of a forum is generally for discussion of things. My own views on FR evil are along the same lines as Giselle's. In real life, we all have our own senses of right and wrong, but in FR, good and evil are very real and tangible forces.

Being a badass mercenary who would knock your teeth out for looking at him wrong is not evil. He would most likely be chaotic neutral. Then you have the same instance, of making eye contact with some other badass in a bar. This one would gladly slit your throat, take your shit, and smile about it. People that show no remorse for heinous crimes such as needless murder, rape, the truly unforgivable crimes, are evil.

Of course, those are just two examples, and there are many, many forms of evil. But being evil generally means you're quite depraved, and murdering someone for the slightest reason is entirely justified in your characters mind. Simply having a lust for power and a taste for the more material things in life, even at the cost to others, does not necessarily make one evil.

Of course, my word isn't law, and I'm sure the more eloquent members of the forum will certainly have much better informed, and written viewpoints than my own, so please, feel free to post your own thoughts on evil, and how we feel it should be played out.

I think lowering the HD of summons was a great idea, so as not to make spawns become ridiculous, however, higher level melee summons, like the illusory doom knight, lose an attack per round, which is quite a large nerf to them. One workaround could be to lower their AC by 4, as well as their movement speed and give them perma haste, this way they'd get that extra action back without running their way about all willy-nilly with blinding speed.

It may be a lawful act to some extent, though who knows, the unit may even stir things up a little should Tempus deem the people of the ziggurat becoming too lax. As well, Hrothgar also values the Red Knight's teaching in high regard, as he had been in attendance at the Red college, in the Citadel of Strategic Militancy.

And so, a docksman, a wildlings, a rager searching for a home passes. Had alot of fun with his character, don't have all that many screenshots, and none of his execution since his tongue was cut out, and his last words were simply an inarticulate yell as he tried to tackle Saircrost. Feel free to post any screenies if you have them

Suggestions / Shortspears?
January 20, 2011, 03:36:10 AM
Quote from: Coldburn;219223Wish Small-sized creatures had access to a Shortspear.

And with the appearance of the shortspear, we could then have people  using the awesome combo of the spear and shield together. Then the  influx of Spartan-esque Chessentans who only yell out epic, short  sentences while showing their pearly-whites could occur.

I digress, a spear and shield would be awesome, especially if the  shortspear damage was 1d6 with x2 threat, or 19-20x2, since that would  make it on par with other simple weapons mostly. I played on a server  that did this, though the server had haks, so I'm unsure if this can be  done without them.

Laddermen, leader of Moogaktul's cattle, banisher of the hellcow, House Harper retainer, patrician, cultist. He lived far too long on the island, and in the end, it took greater feats to please the one true god. In the end, martyrdom, was really the only option.

Had a great run guys, let's hope my next character lasts as long, or has a suitably epic ending. I took screenshots all the way through, I even changed his bio for his preparations to martyrdom. But, alas, I seem to suffer from that silly screenshot bug that doesn't save screenshots properly. So, I only have one surprisingly, and harvesting a sabre tiger head is hardly suiting.

Bug Reports / Dwarf domain bug
November 16, 2008, 05:21:57 AM
Well, for some odd reason every time I try to use my dwarf domain power, I use the special item and nothing happens. I have tried casting it on myself, others, the ground, and objects i dropped and put on the ground. Have any thoughts to this?

Basically, I have been organizing a more permanent defence force than the militia that is being built up for the nightriser assault. After the assault is over most will just go back to being adventurers or whatever they had been before this large event had brought them together. This will be led By Hrothgar, the Tempuran/Tempurian (whichever is correct, I am not sure.) I was thinking of keeping this group fairly small, and it's members should be anything but Evil.

I am trying to figure out what sort of a pay schedule would be best, as it would constitute as a job. I believe this force would be closely tied to law enforcement and run by the current government as well, though it's members would be answerable only to Hrothgar and his right hand, with Hrothgar answering to the current political executive. Any input on better ways to organize this would be appreciated.
