Suggestions / Re: Bonus feat at Level 5
October 04, 2024, 02:29:43 PM
Barbs needed it to be more interesting/versatile since we killed multiclassing tbh, spellcasters should not however, they get way too powerful from extra feats unfortunately.

Suggestions / Give fighters and maybe rangers 10% DI
October 02, 2024, 08:49:24 PM
Given we've entered a new world of high ab monsters, with many of them having like 15-25 ab, playing a fighter vs barb, who have better di and hp or fencer who have better dmg, ac and evasion, it would be great to give fighters a little love.

Therefore suggesting 10% di to pure fighters, just to cut a bit of the sting from all the damage.

Feels like that makes no sense. Evasion does because you cannot move, but DI? That's you and/or your literal equipment.

Suggestions / Buff skill focus feat
September 22, 2024, 05:50:13 PM
At the moment, it's a little underwhelming to waste a feat on +3 to a skill versus other feats available. While no doubt there is a balance issue linked to tumble, could it be improved to +5 or something?

Suggestions / Re: Make Priority quests permadeath
August 27, 2024, 12:58:04 PM
I agree with vlaid and vp, it's a god send for people who cannot play much (me) and has definitely increased the player count and made things more entertaining.

I do also agree though there isn't much risk except outside of Luca, Orc fortress was great at this too, which worries me a bit because then everyone is then on the same level, which then means you can just rush to level 8 in 3 days and just kill that one year old equally powerful pc, which I don't think is intentional.

Also side not related but can people please stop ooc recruiting their friends, especially when they aren't even online yet. I've even seen people log off one character to log into another character to come quest. It's wildly dumb.

Suggestions / Revamp new character starting
June 23, 2024, 01:11:59 PM
Considering 1) its a high average level setting anyway, with average level probably 7-8, 2) most of the areas you initially visit you like never visit again, and 3) a lot of lore and setting, which intentionally set up this way, is either locked by secrets and lore checks or cost a lot of money which may not make sense for your char to buy, and by now most of the easy lore is probably already known by the hardcore players and just ooc given away to their friend's new chars, suggesting the following;

1) Everyone starts at level 5 with a starter pack of supplies
2) several books or npc give away  plot lite stuff and setting insights, like wtf all the diff cities are
3) maybe we can add gossip npcs?

Thoughts?

Suggestions / Re: Change how carrying bodies works
June 22, 2024, 01:15:02 PM
Really against the premise of being able to run off with a body, or struggle less, and honestly the idea/image of people being able to drag 8 corpses out of a warzone is cringey and removes any sense of gravity to the situation.

It should be a challenge, and in its current format it's still heroic if you do it, because you're literally risking your life to do it. If you're dropping it, it's down to your desire to live vs the idea that its ooc that it's heavy to carry a corpse.

Suggestions / Re: Quest XP... up a notch
March 25, 2024, 07:31:00 PM
Bud your like two week old is level 8 before we've even done anything.

I think the problem is more the 8 max quests are not that hard, and the 9-10 quests can be very hard, and I agree they are definitely very cool, so would love to see if something could be done there.

Problem statement: If sufficient risks are not taken, it meant pcs were able to stack up potions, creating a very hard to balance system for DMs.

Current solution: Limiting the number of potions etc you carry, and crippling you if you go over them.

Issue: Immediately optimises for certain builds and classes. A fighter/rogue is immediately better off, as they can use wands and scrolls, and given average level is 7, ab is not much different. Wizards are also pretty great in this system. Any dex based classes are immediately penalised, as they have to trade off mage armour + cats grace vs bulls str for same result.

Suggested solutions:

1) Remove bag limit but have potions leak out randomly over resets, forcing you to use or lose.
2) Create tier 1 and tier 2 potion system - tier 1 are the obvious like bulls str, endurance, etc and are limited, tier 2 are eagles splender, mage armour etc, and are limitless

Suggestions / Make pit duelist plate useful again
March 19, 2023, 07:10:27 PM
Before, this splint used to give +3 ac vs pcs, now it's only +2 ac vs pcs

Not sure why this was ever nerfed, given how shield potions/spells + tumble can create higher ac, how we already have fullplates,  it would be cool to have this reverted.

(disclaimer, I do wear this)

Suggestions / Re: Rogue buffs
February 27, 2023, 07:13:18 PM
IF YOU LET ME FINISH IRONSIDE

JK, mobile randomly cuts off the text when you make a post

Could we add some sort of tool that retags the rogue's crossbow? Or maybe make something sellable, similar to what druids had?

Suggestions / Rogue buffs

Having played one for a bit, can I recommend the following;

- crossbows multi function as grapple guns if you are pure
- rogues get higher wand limit if pure

This gives more utility to rogues which is cool, especially at lower levels and if you

As someone who has played pcs that have been against mobs I am totally against this ruling. Make it illegal without dm approval.

Players mostly randomly heal pcs, before even thinking, which is very frustrating and cheesy/griefy. It also 99% of the time causes players to assume they can get up, and raises the classic vet argument of you might as well fd them.  now.
