Title: Increase Orcs Pt. 1 Level to 10
Post by: Caddies on May 11, 2009, 04:04:56 AM
A selfish suggestion, but I would love to see this quest opened to L10 PCs. As it stands, the only quests available require long time investments and sometimes you just want to fill the gaps in RP or plotting etc. with a short quest with your IC buddies.

I am confident that a L10 would receive absolutely zero XP from this quest, so the spamming it to L11 thing isn't really a concern. My only hesitation in asking really is wondering whether or not the spawns will scale appropriately?

Chosen of Graumath, Shargass Disciples...

I'm sure we could find ways to balance it <_<

I'd be in favor of numerous quests being raised to higher level ranges, or even a separate, similar quest designed for higher levels. (Elite trogs IMO) If the goal is to keep players at 10 or below, that's easily accomplished, but something to do is nice now and then.

Orcs is tough as is, if you balance it for lvl10s, i'm not sure many lvl4-5 will make it through...

Level 10 characters receive no XP from this quest, except from finishing it. They then receive 71 XP.

Are you sure? I was getting 70 on L9.

I don't think the mechanical advantage (for most classes) is so great when going from nine to ten.  However, if this change were made it would still be nice to see a bit of variety when bringing a ten.  Perhaps the higher level orc spellcasters could spawn instead of the regular ones if a ten is present, or an extra few warlords.

I'm all for extra difficulty, but what if your lvl 10 character is just a wizard who wants to go along who gets no new spells at level 10, and aside from a few extra spellslots and one up on his will save or something, he's the same as he was at level 9.  Then three warlords jump onto the level 5-6 fighters you've got?  Cmon... think.
