Title: Hiding items
Post by: Blue41 on May 22, 2014, 12:53:07 PM
I'm not sure if there's a way to implement this, but I was wondering if there'd be any way to create a player tool to target specific items to hide during a PC initiated search. I'm only vaguely aware of the mechanics which determine how much another PC can see in your pack if you decide to hide some things from their search, but what I've found is that I don't care about hiding most things, what I'd really like is to hide a few specific contraband items. So this player tool would tag a few items- maybe a max of 5 or something- and then roll search vs hide/pickpocket/whatever, either for each item or all of them at once.

No idea if this is possible, but I thought I'd throw it out there. It seems most fitting for rogues, but it doesn't have to be restricted to them.

Rather than having to target certain items with a tool, perhaps a 'Hidden Pouch' could be procured and with a successful roll this could mean that anything in it was missed.

The items in the pouch would be limited in size and no more than x Ibs.

Well, nothing automatically missed more simply, preferred items to hide first.

A hidden pouch would be cool. Might finally enable people to hide things from the all-too-guaranteeed-search of /c yank pack.

AFAIK when you attempt to hide items from a search it just rolls pick pocket vs search in some fashion vs every single item in your inventory. Which may sometimes result in a bit of OOC alarm bells when someone searches you and can't find /anything/ on your person that everyone has (Sending stones, potions, your weapon ect).

Didn't we have hidden pouches at one time? It was around the same time we had spell books.
