Quote from: Irith's StoryIrith was a plucky lightfoot hin who grew up an orphan on the streets of Baldur's Gate. She never knew her parents, and instead was raised by her fellows, which instilled in her a very childish personality and the lifestyle that would come to be her trade.
She revered Brandobaris and Cyrrollalee especially, believing strongly in the concept of 'honor among thieves.'
When the Darkening came, Irith and her friends escaped the city. One by one they were picked off by the horrors of the sunless world. Irith was the sole one who remained, and eventually found a portal that lead her to Dunwarren.
Her very first day in Sanctuary, she became affiliated with the Revolutionary movement and grew a very deep hatred for the Watchers and any affiliated with the Red Guild when she and others stood in front of a worker being pelted with fruit for refusing to return to work. She was whipped to the very brink of death, and shortly after became a vocal supporter of the Revolutionary movement.

Irith instantly befriended many, due to her charm and outgoing personality. Especially important to her at the very beginning were Constance Moreau, and Abala Quickfeet. She was rarely seen without the company of either, and they grew quite close.

The other thing that drew her interest and efforts was the Dunwarren Machine. After Auxiliary Kindle took her through the Bowels for the first time in pursuit of a scrapper, Irith had to know every single thing about it. Perhaps it was the natural curiosity inherent in all Halflings, or her defiant nature toward the powers-that-be that drove her. Perhaps it was both. She explored it constantly, going as deep as she could and pushing groups of others to explore it even further. This drew the ire of the Spellguard quite quickly.

Eventually, she became an information broker, and was hired to infiltrate the ranks Brotherhood of Ascent by then Spellguard Aspirant Aldric Walden to see if they had any ties to the Revolutionary movement. She was manipulated, utterly, and wound up branded as one of them when she couldn't provide him with the information he wanted.

Irith accomplished many amazing things, including surviving a daring raid on Ysinode as well as one in Traensyr, as well as several other things I can't really speak of due to fear of spoilers.

When Liruwen's trial came, Irith was outraged and aided the elves in their riot in Freedom Square. She brought down the Watcher carrying the Prefect's unconscious body, and bolted from Upper. She didn't return until the dark of what would be her death.

The rest, my friends, is history. She became somewhat of a fixture in Lower, that friendly Scrapper in the Crone always looking for people to go help raid hatches. Reporting on the movements of the Auxiliary and Watchers as she saw them to those more inclined to violence than she. She explored the Machine, recruited other Scrappers for her projects, and worked alongside the Brotherhood of the Ascent and was a charter member of the Ragmen.

Irith's biggest fear wasn't death itself, but rather being the one to outlive all of her friends. This was a task she succeeded at exceptionally well due to her roguish skills and wound up outliving many of her dear friends and many of her rivals as well.
Irith died, though, to prevent that from happening. One she cared for quite deeply was taken from her, and was to be executed on charges of associating with her. She intended to lure the Watch and Spellguard to the Machine, and attack them viciously before escaping with her friend into it's depths and through the Access Ways.
She ultimately was baited to Upper Sanctuary itself, and disappeared into Serena Tower, never to be seen again.

Irith was my first PC here on EFU. She was intended as a comic relief 8 wisdom character with an expected lifespan of about a week. Instead, what I got was one hell of a ride. Thanks so much for everyone who had a part in it. I'd especially like to thank the players of Abala Quickfeet, Aldric Walden, Chandera Morningbright, Charlene Carshby, Cuthbert Barnaby Welmsley, Drogor Splints, Drake Pierre Ridelle, Geoffrey Cartwright, Kindle, Thomas Chainbreaker, Tobit Azrander, Viviele Motique and all of RWG's characters. There's many others I'm likely forgetting to mention for having a serious influence on this character. Please don't be offended if I did forget.
Also a big ups to Big Orc Man, Canzah, Calculor, Ladocicea, LialH4, Meldread, ShadowCharlatan, and Talir and everyone else in the DM team for helping me get established, giving me shit to do, tormenting me and trying to kill me.
I won't be gone for long. Screenshots and lootpix later. I'm gonna go chill.
Until next time.
There are times when new players struggle and remain unknown.
You didn't, you rose, and you crushed.
My hat is off to you in awe.
An excellent scrapper. I expect screenshots from one of you reading this thread!
first the friendly men... then the friendly gear.
Irith was a good opening, Moonlighter. A pleasure to meet you
Excellent character. Very enjoyable up to the bitter end!
I really enjoyed Irith. She set the Scrapper bar pretty high - it's going to be tough to live up to it.
Good stuff. A lot of fun to interact with.
The quintessential Scrapper, other halfers should be taking notes. Stellar work!
She'll be missed :(
I greatly enjoyed every interaction I had with Irith. Outstanding work.
best scrapper 2013/14
Awesome job, kudos.
Updated the original thread with screenshots. Here's some loot.

Well done.
Irith was a fantastic character, and even better if she was your first. She made me want to roll up a Scrapper just from hearing about all the things you saw in the Machine, puzzling out mysteries and so on. She was loyal to her friends, even the ones she swore to never see again.
Great job Moon.

Probably my favorite character that I was able to interact with across two of my own characters.
I had a very hard time accepting that she would die. I know that's strange since it wasn't my own character.
I guess that's just a testament to how amazingly well played she was: goddamn amazingly!
sweeet
Brilliant.
I can't help but wonder what wild adventure she would have been on had she taken Paub's offer haha.
Nothing better on EFU than PCs who adapt to the server around them. Was great fun to see you grow as a player between the time on Paub to our early interactions with Kalen.
Excellent, excellent character Moonlighter.
Great job.
I never even got to meet her :(
Fantastic work! Glad to have been present for even part of her epic ending!
Epic story. Even without the scrapper thing (which you rocked) Irith was beautifully played. I felt a bit sad for her close to the end for all she's been through and losing all her friends. Was tragic how she met her end but very touching.
Good luck on your next one.
I liked Irith's journey and found it to be very "human" and enjoyable.
Amazing. Truly well done :)
Fantastic work. :)
Amazing first PC. Very often in EFU, while this isn't a dig at anyone, you've got people scrambling all over one another trying to stand out as a grandstanding tough guy.
Irith was always played with a touch of uncertainty and fear about her that made her seem so much more human, and so much more heroic in her braver moments because of it.
Enjoyed the interactions in the Wilds with two of my PC's. Look forward to the next one. Irith was great!
Big Damn Hero
-Trout Man
Solid character played by a gracious and determined player.
My first day on the Server was Irith's last day alive. :(
R.I.P.
