A few times now I have run from 71->99 and none of my spawns saved. Usually I am good and just set spawn when I get to 99, but this time the server crashed and reset me back to 71. Potions and things I used to travel back are gone, but no spawn saved, so it's not just simply that my progress was set back due to reset.

From my experience it only resets your spawn if you're a resident of a hub, setting it to that hub. If you're not it wont.
