Hey! So I've had an issue recently when attempting the Baron Bilby's Quest. Specifically, in the QA - Bilby's Chambers, I've triggered a 'trap' where there was none, or triggered a trap while not touching any red box. I am aware that there are still a few 'invisible traps' still in existence on this quest, and It's not those.
Could it be the model size is registering that I am larger than I actually appear, and as such am stepping on traps that I don't appear to be?
My PC name: Delilah 'Darts'.
Model size: 90%
EDIT: Are delayed trap triggering's a thing? Like, if I 'trigger' a trap, could there be a delay on when it goes off, thus making it appear like I'm not stepping on anything when I actually did?
EDIT: Regarding the old invisible traps, prior to EE, there were 3 spots that constantly fired traps despite one never rendering. I just tested one of those spots, and it only fired once despite running over the same area 60 times. Again, all traps on Baron Bilby's (AFAIK) trigger every time you walk on them.
In my experience this quest is unwinnable. You can have all the requisite skills and will still fail. I have learned to just take the rewards, which are pretty nice. Even if you fail horribly you still get nice stuff, mostly.
Not to mention the guard dog that used to be in the quest, making it much harder. It is much easier now.
There is one or two invisable traps which, no matter your search you cannot find. (I've tried it on someone with Skill focus search, Elf, EArchitect and 2 other perks giving a search bonus along with a bunch of items)
The trick frankly is remembering where they are and how to get aorund them without triggering them =/
I am fairly sure you will always fail. May get close. If anyone ever gets 10 or even nine gems I will be amazed. I suppose 9 is possible. Has it been done yet?
I've actually built chars just to beat this system. I can only assume others have. When you fail miserably on other efforts, you tend to turn your gaze. We are waiting.
I've got 9 quite a few times however sometimes you are just rolling the dice of if you hit one of those invisible traps or not. The middling loot is easily achievable and still quite nice, if you get the top tier rewards, some of those are bordering on DM tier loot.
I've heard people query whether there is a 10th gem, and unless someone was playing a prank, then I have seen the 10th, and it requires some outside thinking.
I got 9 a couple weeks ago. It requires patience and some luck.
It pleases me that some have reached the 9 gem status. It clearly wasn't impossible, you just need the right skills/luck. But 10?
I'm pretty sure it says there are only 9 gems when you start it. Bilby saying he got 10 may be due to other things.
