Title: Squire perk but at level 5
Post by: IxTheSpeedy on November 24, 2013, 03:10:48 AM
Turned level 5 with the Squire perk but my PC doesn't have Disarm.  I re-logged just to check.

Account is IxTheSpeedy and PC name is Peter Gainsford.

Thanks!

Have you rested and walked to another area?

Squire Perk is working as intended, however it is impossible to select Improved Disarm if you have taken the Squire Perk unless you select Disarm as a regular feat choice (IF you have the other prerequisites) and THEN choose Improved Disarm (costs a total of 2 feat selections).

i.e. It is impossible (as far as I know) to upgrade the Disarm feat granted by this perk to the Improved version at the cost of  1 feat selection, even if your PC has all prerequisites.

Feats gained through perks do not count as pre requisites for taking other feats, sadly. For instance, if a perk grants you Exotic Weapon proficiency, it doesn't let you take weapon focus in any exotic weapon, unless you have actually bought the feat on top of gaining it for free through the perk. I think DMs are well aware of it, but it seems they can't fix it yet.

It is not something we will "fix". It's unwanted but not a bug.
