Title: Help making posters on the forums for IC public board stuff.
Post by: MalkavianMilkBalls on January 05, 2018, 03:24:14 PM
Throughout the week I am typically busy with work, and am going to be working overtime for the foreseeable future, so I'm only going to have the weekends to play. I'm hoping to supplement that forum activity. I was wondering is anyone could help me up my forum game in the form of how some people make those fancy posts that look like scrolls and what have you. I'm thinking of picking up a (cheaper) alternative to Photoshop, but if anyone has suggestions that would be easier, I'd greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for your time.

Corel products are much cheaper and will do everything the average user needs. (IMO)

Gimp works really well and is free. It's what I usually use, any how.

I got started with the trial of Photoshop, loved it, and then moved onto buying a year of it.  Granted that's not feasible for many, especially with how little you may use it.

I believe you can find certain old (mid 2000s) versions free online,  legally. Otherwise GIMP has supposedly gotten better but like most open software it is poorly documented to a ridiculous degree.
