Title: Beamdog's NWN: EE Input Board

Hello everyone!


As you know, Beamdog are working on making some great changes to the NWN engine with NWN: EE and have offered us, the players, a chance to influence where some of their development resource is focused.


They have created a Trello board to take input in the way of 'voting' for the most liked/wanted functionality that they will then focus their effort into implementing.


This input is based on discussions in the NWN: EE forum here (https://forums.beamdog.com/categories/neverwinter-nights) (so I also recommend you get involved with the discussion there) where the most discussed topics and functions are transferred to the Trello board for voting input from the playerbase. You can find the Trello board here (https://trello.com/b/Lb79bbgy/neverwinter-nights-input); please do get involved and do vote.


What we'll also likely do is encourage you to discuss your thoughts on the various functionality pieces here, as well as updating this post with direct links to important functionality we would like you to vote on as it is probable to be key for any development of EFU in NWN: EE.

Any questions, thoughts, input etc. please add to this thread.

It'd be worth making it known what functions the DM team most want so we players can vote in that direction.

I'll update the first post with some ones we'd like you to vote on as we discuss them internally (the first is already there) but otherwise, I welcome players to review what's there and make some choices themselves, as well.

I understand it's been wished for in the past, that there should be some way to hook into the stealth system.

Maybe a SetName() function analogous to SetDescription(), particularly for player characters... But I understand these things were also sort of worked around with NWNX so :shrug:

Its been done in other servers, dunno how they did it (haks obviously).. arelith in particular had a good system as did amia(to a lesser extent)

But yes holy crap please it would be amazing for rogues and villains lol

And fix riding!!

The ability to set PC names (I think nwncx or whatever allows it as well) - also the ability for DMs to limit this as they wish?


Better faction support (hostile, faction1, faction2). Ability to adjust these in real [size=78%]time[/size][/size][size=78%]/ set temporary factions  in a way that is easier for DM staff?[/size]

Updated the above with a new request: Add DM Search functions for creator and chooser.

For those who aren't familiar with the DM client, there are two key functions/tabs:

EFU is a large module, and we have hundreds of creatures and placeables in the palette, and a large amount of areas, and sometimes it's just hard finding that one thing you're looking for between all the other things.


This will certainly make our lives easier IG in numerous ways - creating dungeons, run events, etc.

There should already be a search function for the Chooser, it's the little magnifying glass icon, but the creator definitely needs a search function when you have X amount of custom content.
