I love the unique, and totally in keeping with Jergal favor system of the Mausoleum. However, there is a slight gripe about it.
People don't die enough.
The other duties of the Mausoleum are wills and Testaments, and destroying undead.
If Mausoleum PCs can be given a widget that can give the PC a "Favor Point" for writing a will and testament, the widget would be used on a PC, the PC must confirm that the will has been complete and has been submitted.
It'd function similarly like cleric amulets did with conversions, accept the player in question would also receive an item stating that the PC has a Last Will and Testament. Scrolls/similar items tend to loose their content on a reset, so those aren't really feasible.
It'd also be nice if corpse items used for Necromancy could be counted as corpses, too.
Just an extra tid-bit for the Scriveners Favor Point.
It's a simple problem.
If not enough corpses
Make more corpses.
Problem solved.
People do die, though not frequently, but the main thing is you need to publicize yourself and get the bodies. Offer some nice rewards for people bringing corpses or writing to you reporting where a corpse is. It's certainly a long term investment and should take a lot of time, but that's what it is about. A dull, repetitive and lengthy process of routine drudge work. Though admittedly yes now that the server has settled people are deciding to perma a lot less often than when I played my Mausoleum PC so the environment could be different, but don't do it alone. You're a focal point of the society of Sanctuary itself, so get Sanctuary to work for you and bring you bodies or report their locations like they're supposed to. They're out there, you just need to know where.
So far the Mausoleum PCs have kept immaculate details regarding last wills.
Asking DMs to wand players for 'wills' is boring. An easy method, I imagine, would be to have Mausoleum PCs able to wand a person, that shows when their bag is opened, that they possess a Last Will and Testament, that can be ignored at the leisure of the player.
