If you set your spawn point in a location where the entrance can be locked, your character will get stuck in there if another character locks the door after a server reset.
Thanks.
You might want to detail what place this happens at.
If you got in, you should be able to get out.
Hmm, maybe the place is normally locked but was left open by another character? I'm talking about abandoned homes in the southern alleyways.
There are many such spawn points that people with keys can access, sometimes forget to lock, and thus a new Pc finds the secluded spot and chooses to spawn there. In the future- it might be best not to select random spawn points unless you're sure there is no potential to be locked out (Or ensure you have the key)
There's a way of getting through a locked door, even if you don't have any points of lockpicking yourself.
It likely was unlocked by someone else, yes.
Yeah, the problem is that you don't necessarily have such an item with you when you spawn in a locked up area like that.
And Inq, it actually didn't even occur to me that the door might have been locked by default. There are just so many locked doors that lead absolutely nowhere ("requires a specific key") that I thought a spawn point like that one, or another area of interest, would be distinguishable precisely by being unlocked.
Anyway, I guess I just gotta stick to spawn points of which I'm sure there won't be this kind of a problem that then requires me to find a DM to help me out. New players, or players who simply aren't familiar with all the secluded corners of the server, are bound to run into this same problem though.
Die in a quest or get mugged and lose your faction key. It's 10 minutes till you have to leave for OOC reasons, so you log/ragequit. Server gets reset before you can get back. Pwnt.
Perhaps give spawns optional inventory requirements or you get tossed to a default.
