Some clerics should probably be adding ice or negative damage to a weapon instead of fire. It doesn't make sense to me to have darkness or water domain clerics immolating weapons.
This got brought up a while ago, but it got shot down on account of being a very large amount of effort to give each domain a token or something to override the spell effect.
They don't need a token; you can check for the domain feats the same way Turn Undead does. However, it would be a lot of work theming the Darkfire spell - after all, not all domains have their summoning spells themed, yet.
As an alternative of immolating weapons, if it doesn't make sense for your cleric do so, you could simply not immolate weapons.
I mean hell, goodly clerics don't get an alternative to animating dead, they simply don't use the spell.
Darkfire =/= animate dead.
The solution to this is more Bane, clearly.
Or possibly ragequitting.
Balance concerns also come into play as elemental damage is much easier to block then negative damages, and divine damages cannot be blocked or resisted.
