Title: Strange Lag?
Post by: NoneButTheBrave on August 18, 2011, 06:06:42 PM
While playing recently I have been getting lag like I've never had before. It isn't server lag I don't think.. Anytime ANYTHING loads into my screen i get tremendous lag. I will be frozen in place at times when 5 kobolds run up. I've never had nwn lag like this unless some crazy event was going on. Is there any way to alter a game file to correct this or something? My PC can handle games like WoW, TF2, Borderlands.. So I don't see why NWN is giving me so much trouble! Any suggestions are appreciated.

Did any other games start doing this lately?  It might be a graphics card driver update you need to roll back.

If you don't have the cpu set to -1 and you have a dual processor, that might be the issue.

I noticed these strange lag spikes too and I primarily use a single core machine. Ok...something weird with multi-core processors: Try the setting at -2. I have no idea what this really does but I think it makes NWN run even better, at least it seems to on my laptop. Worth a shot. :)

I'm experiencing very odd and increasingly intense lag too, starting a couple of days ago. I usually have delays, from 0.5-2 seconds, that randomly appear and disappear. Wonder what's up with it...

Same here, sudden lag spikes, but everything's usually fine. I haven't updated my gfx card drivers lately and I'm on linux. Timing out for anywhere between 5 and 20 seconds.
