Title: Bilbys "Ghost" trap
Post by: TurboTax on July 31, 2011, 01:01:20 AM
Okay, so its been talked about before. But I suggest that it possibly takes 2 traps to get -2 points. because there usually is only one instance where you don't step on a trap, but it says you do. And that would fix the EVER AGGRAVATING event from occurring as often, and people usually don't step on traps, and if they do, they will step on more than one.

I had someone fix one a while ago, but there are still two that are often totally invisible and still trigger the penalty, not to mention the rogue hallway trap that is also invisible discussed in an even different thread.

A review of this area might be nice! :)

In all my time I haven't had anything like this happen to me, though pathing systems in situations I won't go into detail about can cause annoying trap hits. Easily avoided the next time, since now I know about them, so one time annoyances at most.

I guess the similarly annoying one time annoyances go for most people that suffer from this bug, because it's really just a very rare and lag related sight.

For me, its happened every time. I get 9 of the gems, and then set some crazy trap where there is none on the screen. Which is extremely frustrating.

Perhaps you're using unsupported, or not using supported area overrides?

The location of traps is randomly changed due to lag.

Remember dropping through those pitfalls in the middle of the boss room in the Trogs quest?

The exact same thing is happening here.

What, you've never got higher than 9 gems?

Ahahahaha.

Bump, as I really believe this system should be looked into. My idea implements that if you do set off one trap, it either means that you hit a ghost trap, or you set of a trap that you didn't see. If it is the later, that means that there's a likely possibility that you will hit another one. And if it is the ghost trap, you are way less likely to hit two. In my experience.
