Title: Bard song
Post by: mjones3 on July 13, 2011, 11:25:02 PM
I plan on making a Bard as my next char but before I do I have a few questions about some bard mechanics.

1. Does the feat Lingering Song effect songbook songs?

2. Are there songbook songs for Curse Song?

3. Do bards have to be performers or could I make more of a traveling story teller/lore keeper? I've imagined more of a wandering witness, who spreads news, witnesses marriges/births/ect. The entertianment, poems and musical magic would be more of an insentive to make people allow for lodging, food, or other aid.

Can you only have one custom song at a time (i.e. a bard song OR curse song, but not both)?

Your songbook can stores every unique song you get, and you activate them through a chat command or activating the book.

Using the curse song feat enables default curse song, but having the feat allows you to use certain songs that grant negative effects.

Yus, also, for each 3 ranks in perform, you get +1 round duration to your bardsong.

Yes, they are labeled as "curse" and can be obtained like normal bardsongs

Bards can be lots of things. From singers, actors, but also advenutrers with a love for poetry, warriors who write epic acounts of their battles, or just a wandering man making stories about stuff.

Wow, never found that on the website thanks for that bit of insight. Also is that for each hard bonus, or do soft bonuses from items count towards it?

Both count. 30 perform = 10 rounds of bard song +lingering song = 15 rounds
