Devs:
A very nice intro dream sequence you've put in on this server build revision, very well done if you ask me.
The mirror images of your char are very nice, if the ones that kill you outright for leaving paths in game are a little like russian roulette for laggy connections (like mine).
My compliments on the atmosphere of your gameworld, really A grade stuff.
I was amazed as well.
Very nice touch!
A very good addition to the server
I was genuinely impressed by both the scripting and the atmosphere of the intro. Credits where they are due, Howland!
I was similarly awed.
Just did that quest. Awsome.
I thought Dan made that. Who did, can we find out?
I just did it for the first time, that was VERY impressive!
Thank you for the words of praise. I was indeed responsible for its construction, with assistance from Johannes for scripting the misty clone system.
Much of the inspiration for EFU:M was born out of a general sense of dissatisfaction with the starting sequence of EFU:A, in fact, and I really wanted to make sure we had something nice early on to hook the kind of players we're interested in.
The sense of history and location really gives depth to the current situation and makes the character feel pulled into a world, not just a set of stats. The parallels to other things don't hurt either.
The explanations of each candidate for nightriser was especially poignant.
My opinion may not count for much, but I must say that you made the server extremely new player friendly. You literally could never have played here or NWN, yet are given useful messages, helpful hints and so on all the way to Mistlocke - where are quest is just waiting for you to introduce you to the city.
I think that's awesome, especially that it's so easy to ignore by veterans. It's a prime example of a tutorial that isn't too intrusive - something that plagues many modern games.
But my opinion, like I said, may not say much. I'm so in love with EfU, and always have been, that even if you made the entire server one area I'd probably call it a stroke of genius and atmosphere, put on a default brown robe, write a mysterious emote and /e sit somewhere on the map, dreaming. (Yes, you can be in love with something, yet constantly complain about it. Why? Because you love it, darn it.)

I've been looking for a new server to play, and that dream sequence intro is far and away the best hook and coolest of all that I have looked at.
See you folks around - I play Gordon Smythe.
I was told this dream intro was awesome, and I went into it expecting coolness, and what I experienced far exceeded that. By far, this is the best new character experience that EFU has had to date!
Great job!
We can all agree that too much praise doesn't hurt anyone so, I also would like to congratulate you guys for the introduction and the dream sequence.
It's amazing, and very reassuring for old players who were gone for a long time about how much fun NWN and servers like EfU:M can be.
I've been away since April, and have looked at the site and server for the first time since then.... I can only say I'm blown away by this intro. The changes have been huge since I left but this gave me all I needed to step straight back into the game. Well done!!
