So the Stygian Armada, a supposed 'elite' 'cadre' 'of' 'trained' 'warriors' thinks they have enough men to control the entire island.
Meanwhile, the Dominion is bankrupt, rebels have safely lived a stone's throw away from their settled defenses for a very long time, the Order has established a village that all the unhappy citizens are flocking to, there is precisely one guard at the Dominion's shattered gates, bandits and worse prowl the ruins, nightrisers continue to form a threat, need I continue?
The Loyalist Militia prevents the military collapse of the Dominion. Its small size prevents the military expansion of the Dominion.
"Dominion fodder"
"Stygian bitches"
"Aspirant waiting room"
These terms will no longer apply to the Militia.

Red Starfleet Security Uniforms will be handed out on request as off-duty wear ;). Porkolt plays a great Lawful Shouty Sergeant concept. Get in on this, folks!
So I can play a LG Paladin Troll of Bane and still get in?
I like how I used most of those terms for millitia when Porkolt was discussing this with me >_>
Your order of red shirts came in this morning. Where do you want me to put them, Team Cannon Fodder? :P
Seriously though, Red Shirts can be hilariously fun to play, especially as temp characters when you're between concepts
Yes.
Allow me to make it very clear that this concept is NOT only for redshirts.
They can work, but are certainly not the focus.
If your a masochist this is the concept for you!
Alright. Because of the huge amount of prejudice people seem to have about the militia and my concept, I'll make a post here detailing a few things.
First of all, playing a militiaman is not a one-way ticket to death. Neither does playing a militiaman have to be the exclusive focus of your concept.
For example, playing a part-time militiaman, who goes off duty to pursue his other goals, is entirely possible. In that case, his position as militiaman might only strengthen him politically, for a very small price.
"But militiamen have no authority!" I hear a lot of you cry. In my three days of experience as a militiaman I've come under the impression that, as a militiaman, you have as much authority as you want to have. You might not have one of those nifty arrest wands, but you have the uniform, and anyone who says you don't have any authority is WRONG. Negative attitude means negative results!
I've also been told a faction area is a very realistic possibility in the near future.
Once more players join, the militia will start taking up a realistic military structur, hierarchy included. That not only means that, yes, you will start out as a nobody, but also that there is room for advancement. Being an abused militiaman is not the prospect of joining. It's simply the phase you're going to have to go through when you start.
Consider this concept with an open mind. At least I'm not going to stand for militiamen being useless scenery. They're a part of the setting, and they have potential to be a lot of fun. That nobody has managed to make them that speaks more about players than about the faction.
I could easy see a patrician putting on the militia uniform when the city is in danger. Doing his part!
You can also join the Militia and infiltrate the Docks! We Sons welcome infiltrators (OOCly, of course, lol)
Or vice-versa! You can work for the Sons and infiltrate the Militia! One way or the other, I approve this concept!

This has happened before
Honestly, i think the milita needs more love. Too many stygians, to little militiamen is just wrong. There should be like 5 militiamen for each infantryman considering the stygians are the elite. But i don't see that happening.
Several militia PCs running around now, but we're certainly not at the level yet where we'd say that's about enough.
Give it a thought, and drop by #militia to discuss ideas and find out more!
Please join this.
An excellent faction which has had a pretty poor reputation IG. Join up and forge the awesome things to come.

Are you guys still around, because i'd happily roll up one or two if you are!

Contrary to Seanzie's Passive Aggressive Posters, we ARE Bad-Asses who CAN throw the law around at our will. Its all about how much power you believe you have!
Join the Militia!
For they are the real undeclared heros of the dutchy.
In my first day of being an ASPIRANT to the militia I.
Repulsed three orc raids into the city, holding a last ditch defense before the city proper itself
Hunted down orcs through a twisting warren of orcan filth, barricades and Stygian corpses
Gained an ancient and powerful Hoaran blade
Had three different and fraknly stunning plots dropped into my lap
Seriously, if you do nothing else, give the faction a try, feel intergrated to part of the server and the storyline as the frontline, itll make becoming a hero all the more satisfying, trust me.
The Loyalist militia needs some ppl.
