Title: Consecration - Clerics

Well it came up in IRC and, as an advocate of juggling the class fun level, I thought it might be a nice idea to post some thoughts on this.


QuoteConsecrate area - A cleric may lay claim to a piece of land (large area) once each day. This ground grants all enemies a -1AB, -1 saves (Will save, DC 10+cleric level+ Wisdom mod) The Cleric may use this ability once per day for every 5 levels. Duration lasts until rest.

This bonus does not effect the Cleric himself

Random quick ideas that I'm not sure are even possible, but I think the idea of Consecration is pretty cool and might be something to add in the future for this class.

GFX Miracles.

Seriously.

As someone who played a cleric with a difficult dogma to pull forth on display I think it would be stellar to be able to call down the "Magic rings" like from the Protection from Alignment spells, beams of light, and more for GFX to add drama and flair to preachings, and a "God's presence".

Maybe the more devout and how often a priest works, the bigger, cooler, and more badass GFX animations he call pull down without DM presence.

I fully support the idea of giving clerics Prayer 3/day that lasts for 10 times the usual duration. I'm sure Johannes will implement this when he finishes scripting the bazookas for druids.

On a more sensible note, something like the Hallow/Unhallow spells would be cool, as a ritual that could be done IG with DM supervision. I would pursue that line of thinking and find a DM to run you a ritual if you really want to make a place holy or hellish.

Clerics do need a little buffing IMO, and this seems a stylistic approach. I support!
