Title: Fine Wine, Fine Bitches, And shaving dwarves.
Post by: Random_White_Guy on March 03, 2011, 05:01:39 PM
I've played a lot of things in my time on EFU. Elf is not one of them.

I'm hoping to put together a little band of elf-folk who come to the isle together. Mainly since my knowledge of elves are very little beyond "Look down at everyone", reverence for talent, and more.

The hope would be to have other nicely done elven PC's to emulate and learn with, playing an Elven PC who was raised amongst a human environment but seeking more of its heritage.

With the Ily'thiri ruins so elven and not much used of late, and the simple fact that a lot of folks neglect the Elven Race, I think it'd be a cool pursuit.

Anyone interested can throw up interest here, find me in #Points or toss me a PM!

Busy today but ideally would start tomorrow, depending on circumstance. If not, then sometime this weekend.

Oh my, oh my. This could be a wonderful opportunity.

I don't want to drop any knowledge about my character Amadeus OOCly, but much of what you have mentioned here is strikes a chord with my own current character.

If you read his journal (and keep all the information therein strictly OOC knowledge,) I think you will understand:

I have had minor interactions with your last two characters and enjoyed them each time. Just know that I'm not a heavy conflict oriented player or character. But that does not mean we can't cooperate even if you are... (just expect some distance from my own character)

Aren't elves supposed to live a long time?

As a wilidng PC now, I can tell you that there are SEVERAL elven PCs / groups running about.  While not in line with "coming to Ymph together" doubtful with your skill at bringing people together you could take over....er.....  get with that group for some good RP.

Kind of involved in a PC right now, had a long living elf PC and ran with an elf faction, would be happy to advise.

A good elf (alignment) might typically regard themselves as more important than humans. Humans live a few decades before dying, a century if they're lucky, while elves can live a millennium or more. By the time an elf reaches adulthood, they have seen all the humans they knew from their early childhood age and die.

Despite regarding themselves as superior, most elves don't want to cause suffering in the world, they want peace, and quiet, and happiness. Human life is valuable to them, but they are generally untrustworthy of them until they have proven themselves, which often takes quite some time, and elves are slow to forget enemies and friends alike.

Half-orcs and elves will not get along, pretty much ever, unless said half-orc goes above and beyond the call of duty to do good things in the world.

Dwarves live almost as long as elves sometimes, and though the two races bicker, often, but tend to become friends regardless (though the bickering and taunting never stops).

Anyway, I think you get the basic idea. I'm not going to go into detailed relations between all the races here, but I hope this helped.

Moon elves are very similiar to gnomes in how they regard other races. it's gold elves that are the haughty ones.

Edit: Actually moon Elves almost seem human from everything I've read. Only the other subraces of elves actually seem to have a stark difference to other races.

In EfU, the elves and dwarves seem to always become some sort of virolic best buds, like Legolas and Gimli. Kinda funny, but keep that in mind ;)

Elves differ in personality and beliefs just as much as Humans.  Their memories are long and they are not quick to forgive any that they deem untrustworthy.. but many humans are the same.

And my bow.

I support this faction! I give it 2 weeks with RWG on the roll, but hey. Make some fail-safes in case he dies with this.

Actually, he's learned to do that, lol, the Camarilla is not without leadership thanks to his realizing this important thing... Now if only he had the foresight to dodge his enemies. :P

Elfplans canceled, thanks for those who were interested but my concept was a little too much political for my current tastes.
