In these days of PC's Xbox's and PS3, I was wondering does any one out there still play sitting round a table , with pen paper and dice? I know i do , and have been doing so since I was 11, And Im not saying how long agao that was .
So if you do still RPG with funny shaped dice what games do tyou play?
my list is D&D (ongoing game beeen running more than a decade now)
Call of Cthulu, (run away, run away!!)
and finaly , when board PARONIA ( all trouble shooters please report to the nearest termination booth) ( where the computer is definately not your friend, )
I do I play 4th ed D&D every Tuesday. I can't go for long without playing the pen and paper verison. I like the feeling of being arounds friends being able to use everything from every book. We do also play other games like white wolf and BESM but mostly just D&D
Nerds. Who plays DnD?
Just kidding. If I didn't have an ego (I like to call it dignity, but I'm more honest via internetz), I'd still play. And I can't lie about how awesome Paranoia sounds, I'd love to try that sometime.
The closest I get these days is the card game, Munchkin. Super rad game.
Every Two week sfor the past umpteen years a group of friends and I have been playing 3.5 edition DnD... every once in awhile CoC (Call of Cthulu) for a break. Took a look at 4th ed and didn't like it (also sunk over 100 bucks into all the books for 3.5 warrior's, clerics, magic item compendium etc.). It 's hard at times to get every one together, (you know someone's kid almost dies as a result of child onset diabetes, someone's father does die (guy still came to play DnD didn't really care for his father), someone gets diviorced... same guy gets married, holidays come and go, family vacations come and go), but we've always played together and it's something we (at least I) miss when we don't get together for awhile.
I play regularly. Modified, simplified, less-dice 3.5 rules. 4e is ugh.
Always wanted to play CoC but .. that requires a tremendously good DM who can keep the atmosphere!
Paranoia is so much fun.
I special guest (ergo I show up every 4-5 meetings) in an ongoing game of Rogue Trader. It's at my local gaming club and I usually go there to play games of Warmachine. But If I can't get a game sometimes I drop in there. Great fun.
While I haven't played PnP for about 3 years due to my little group having to go its separate ways I am glad to say I will be starting a new Shadowrun game in about a week or two. Oh yes, life will soon be good.
I recently found a good group to play PnP D&D with, while I wasn't excited about it being 4th edition and the Eberron campaign setting, I still welcomed it.
So far its been a blast! There is nothing like a good night of table top gaming, and is part of the large reason I'm not around more on the server.
Peace!
Played for many years, every other Saturday night. But, sadly the group all got lives. (or at least that is what they want me to believe)
So haven't played in a few years now.. I miss the days of stupidity until the wee hours of the morning.
It really does suck to grow up.

I still play D&D these days. We are about to try Pathfinder, the independent further development of 3.5 by Paizo. It looks awesome.
I am also about to restart my own game. Night Below made ages ago for second edition, now updated to Pathfinder. Horrible monsters that want to enslave the players and eat their minds. Good times.
Pathfinder is awesome! I took a few changes from there to the campaign I ran at some point!
A bit. A bit.
I play a modified 3.5 some times too, but really not often at all. I have a bunch of miniatures back home from when I was younger, though.
I never actually have.
Since 4th grade. My group plays 3.5 Eberron monday nights, hence me never being on those evenings. Played White Wolf's stuff, Palladium's, the older Warhammer fantasy, BESM(a little), and a handful of others over the years.
I still play 3.5 and Pathfinder. It's great fun. 4th is basically WOW with dice.
I have before but 4th addition is weird.
Never have. But want to try.
Try to play every Saturday, we've played so many campaigns over the years i cant remember them all but some of my faves have been, A Hyperborien (thats Conans world for all those out there with ego's) where hit points are all but none and armor give dam.res. instead of AC, A postapocolypse where we all ended up Mutating to hell, yep fun stuff.
Greeny
Played red box, blue box, teal box, black box, then onto 2E. Haven't had the time though since high-school. Online rp is just so nice - let's you focus on rp and not trying to refill chip bowls.
I do every Thursday evening for probably 15 years now. Its why I'm not on those nights.
3.5 Ed usually, sometimes Star Wars, and we're looking at Pathfinder.
SD.
Guys i wish i could play this stuff it sounds so fun! But my friends already take the piss out of me for playing D&D on the PC like Garem said its ego problems. I'm supposed to be the bad ass out of the group of my friends so i have that to live up to :P
CHeck out this LIst and tell your buddys to piss off.. if they can't invent a story or imagine themselves as anything else (personality wise) they suck donkey balls... or what ever words you want to use, but you get my meaning.

I knew some of these and others were new to me.... pretty good and varied list.
Edit added link from WIkipedia... because it's on Wikipedia.. it's gotta be true... right?!?
I probably would if I had time and found a good group. I've played some RPG style board games like Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Last Night on Earth, that sort of thing, and I own three sets of Munchkin now, which I shuffle together for games against Eq and DI :P. There's nothing like kicking down a door in a dungeon while sailing your Half-Galleon and wielding a Steam-Powered Gatling Gun.

Hey, bad asses are bad asses because they like my little pony and get away with it! It's all about attitude, and the fact you could crush some skulls potentially.
Don your wizard hat and cloak!
I fucking love my little pony.
I have never played, but would love to try sometime. Though i can see it being like monopoly, fun but takes forever!

You know what, you right!
I get called a big muscley nerd, but atleast i can crush skulls and play DnD at the same time! DnD is for the cool kids.
I actually owned the box pictured in the avatar..get all my rp fixes from EFUA now though, no time irl to sit around a table and roll dice...unless it is in Vegas and huge sums of money are at stake..
I DM games when I can. What with college going on now, I have a harder time setting up games.
I only play 3.5 edition. 4th edition is scum.
I plan on DMing a Serenity roleplaying game in the coming months though. I got kind of burned out on D&D because of how hard it is for me to convert the 4th ed rules that are in all the book games into 3.5.
when i play pen and paper we dont just play with dice. we play with soul dawg. it is not just about tha tb or those spells but it is about soul. i mean do you ahve soul if you dont have soulw h dont you have soul. and if you dont have soul do youw ant soul.

What?!
I started playing 1st edition late in elementary school. By the 7th grade I was rockin' 2nd ed, and it became a hobby from there. Also collected many of the basic set boxes (the colored ones) from yard sales, etc. I really enjoyed many of the alternate commercial settings from the 90s, like Ravenloft (though technically the first modules were 1st ed in the 80s) and especially Dark Sun. Dragonlance had cool novels, but the campaigns never worked out right (kinder were the best though!). Greyhawk has nice quirks. And I always liked the Realms, even pre-what's-his-face goodly drow, and post-ToT (wild magic=sweet! spellplague=whack). I also used to play Shadowrun a lot, and a few Palladium settings (TMNT/Road Hogs!).
These days it's tough for me to find a group, but I've had a lot of fun sustaining my habit with EFU in the past few years. Awesomeness.

Word dawg.
