Post by: Dr Dragon on November 02, 2010, 02:15:28 PM
The Prominent figures are currently very outdated and dont even include the Conclave/Sons it also still lists the Leader of the Order as "missing"

Where do you find the prominent characters forum?

I personally just don't have time for keeping this updated, myself.

If you or anyone is up for doing a quality job of it then that would be helpful.

Viordai Antilanov, Founder of the Laddermen (PC)
Viordai Antilanov was the charismatic founder of the Laddermen; a well-accomplished gang that played a major role alongside the Sons in defending the docks and furthering its interests. It is also known that the gang sold a wide array of wares, not the least of which was mind altering substances. However, the Laddermen were also involved in internal affairs, and it is rumored that Viordai and his crew may have been directly involved in the eradication of the Sewer Rats; a gang based in the sewers. Viordai himself was an accomplished arcanist and alchemist, and it is widely understood that before his disappearance he was even able to create a golem with his alchemical knowledge. What became of Viordai Antilanov is under much speculation; what is known is that the Conclave was attempting to capture him so they could hold a trial, and even though the accusations against Viordai were never publically identified, he agreed to turn himself in and face a fair if private trial. The Conclave claims that Viordai was sent back to his homeland, but many docksmen whisper of Viordai’s murder within the halls of the Transcendent Conclave, as he was never heard from again.

Is this any good?

Thane Durgrim of Fell-Hammer Hold (PC)

A venerable dwarven warrior of great reknown amongst much of the adventuring and civilian population, he rose to prominence as Lord Fell-Hammer, being elevated to the peerage by the Duke and being granted the fief of the foothills.  Beloved by his people and respected by many for his sense of honour and justice he is the epitome of dwarven might.  His hatred of the orcan and monsterous races is ever present and he is often a beacon of hope a stolidarity on the battlefield.

Lord Aggravain Blackhearth (NPC)

The enormous and powerful leader of the Numinous Order, Lord Blackhearth is a somewhat enigmatic figure recently returned to prominence.  Raised to the peerage by the Count via the startling announcement of a Ruby during a climatic duel between the now lord and Duke Antoine Trenada.  Lord Blackhearth commands a large millitary force and rules his ever expanding domain from Castle Blackhearth in the Tangled Woods.

Couple of examples, i'd be willing to write these up in more detail and do some others if needed.

I like Divine Intervention's stuff better than mine. It's better put together.

DI's stuff is indeed worthwhile adding in. I'd suggest that perhaps people could list off PC's who really are worth adding to this list here or whatever. So that they could have their pieces written.

Certain ones that spring to mind:

Caius Drayden, Champion of Targus and pretty much public enemy number 1.

Durgrim as above

Lord Blackhearth as above

That may lead to the much feared circle jerk.

Probably Lord Gull and Bartemis Vrintak would be fine too. Legged seems important enough, i've always wondered why isn't he in there.

Don't we have rules against this sort of commentary Ninelives?

What sort?

Trolling Nine. :(

On the Plus side, It's ultimately the dms decision, and Nine makes a valid point. People will do it just to see their friends up there, even if it is unintentional

Honestly it wouldn't be hard to pick out the real prominent pcs from a list.  Perhaps a list could be made and then if a DM has the time then they could shortlist it.

Prominent PC's? Geniveive Walton, Bishop Raymon Coolidge, Elizabeth Harper, Genteel Jim (mostly because there's no other prominent docks PC atm, that I'm aware of), Lord Fellhammer, Leged (maybe, he may not fit on this list, but he's probably the most well known druid).

While it would be nice to have it updated more often, I don't really think this method works well. Sorting through the endless list of names and descriptions would take just as long for a DM to write (or request from that player) a very short bio.

Agreeing with 9lives here. Hard to stay unbiased in this, even when it comes unintentionally.

Though seeing it updated would be nice, but it has been done rarely in the past too so I won't miss it much anyway.

Spending this whole thread shouting out PCs who deserve to be prominent when the DMs have said they don't have time to do the NPCs sounds like an incredibly silly thing to do.

Elera- A long lived "Lady of the hour" At the gentlemans club in the docks only to later be seen as a "black harper" or black pin assasin whom in turn was killed in old port for her crimes against the dutchy and her many seditious  acts towards them.

(Also the other black pins but at this time thier names elude me)
