Title: Dispel Invis on Bleeding Out
Post by: Nightshadow on October 22, 2010, 02:41:18 AM
It's extremely annoying when you go down, invisible, then no one can heal you because you're invisible. What's worse is that you can't dispel invisibility. Please make it so that /c dispel invis works when between 0 and -9.

Or give your companions see invisibility potions if you are afraid of this occurring beforehand.

This seems like a good thing to me, actually. One of the risks of being invisible!

But it kinda suck that one can find the person (see it all white-glow-ish) but still not heal.

The sick, sadistic part of me sorta agrees with el Deputy on this one.

I agree with DC.

The range on Cure _____ Wounds is Touch. It shouldn't require the ability to see the target, only to touch them. If you know where the person is by bumping into them or whatever, then you should be able to heal them. Yet the game doesn't recognize that sort of spell targeting.

There are costs associated with dropping your invisibility as well. You're a target once again. Once your healer can see you, everybody can see you.

Yup that's always been my only gripe with the way being invis while bleeding out works.

I've always taken grim humour in my situation when I'm invis on the ground bleeding to death and nobody knows I'm about to die.

It's a lot less humorous when people are standing right over me, can see I'm in front of them, but the game won't let them target me for a heal.

The problem with the bleed out system is really that so many PCs die because of "Oh shit, low HP, surrounded" *Invis* *AoO max dmg* "Shiiiiiit" *Bleedout*.

No thanks.  It's a good thing.

Why is it a good thing?

It's annoying. That alone should be reason enough to change it. You might convince me otherwise if you can point out a PC whose story was notably improved by the way it currently works.

If you (whoever) like to bleed out invisible, you can feel free not to dispel it. And those who don't could feel free to do it. I don't see why one party should have any business telling what's better for the other.

Dont like being invis and bleeding then don't be invisible.

I understand some people prefer it this way, and I might even agree that it is when all is said and done. However I also see people saying that it's a good thing and yet not explaining the reasoning behind that thought. I'd be curious to know why it's a good thing.

I do not know btw, but /c dispel invis may still work even if you lie bleeding. You can write after all.

Be a more organised group, use see invis, /c dispel invis -before- you go down.  I've rescued invisible PC's before.  Also, it is a risk you take for the fact that you can basically walk a quest doing little other than healign with almost no danger.  It's not really a big issue.

Or these esteemed healers could pop a see invis

If we removed everything that was annoying, this server would be incredibly easy. I find rest timers and death penalties annoying, as well as the need to quest to level up.

This is a risk/reward scenario. Sure, you can be invisible. But if you go down while invisible, obviously people can't see you to heal you. Carry invis purge, or see invis.

I find death penalties extremely annoying....

Anyway, yes, agreed that there's ways to prepare and prevent people from dying while invisible. I've always been surprised how after a loot split there's often See Invisibility potions (and Ultravision for that matter) lying on the ground unclaimed. It's like a bonus.

I'm pretty indifferent on this, but a well prepared and competent adventurer or healing (the kind who people want on their groups) should be the kind who is prepared with see invis, healing circle, etc.

I think that healing circle might not affect a target in the negative as it's considered dead, the same way a fireball will not hurt someone already bleeding.

Healing circle does work, speaking from experiance of recieving and using it.

And fireballing a PC with less than 0 HP does kill it too.
