Title: Shelegan's persistant blade
Post by: Drakill Tannan on July 31, 2010, 07:37:05 PM
How about if we made the spell to work as aimate dead? If cast on the ground, it works as it is now, if cast on a weapon/shield it instead makes the summon wield whatever weapon/shield it was casted upon?

The downside would be that weapons that are not finesable would not have any AB, but if the model is fixed by instead of having 18 DEX and finesse, to have 18 STR and something that gave it -3 damage, this could be fixed.

It couldn't be too unbalancing because to make a decent summon, you'd need to spend a greatsword or something of the like, and it doesn't last much, so using super greatswords is not a good idea: you'd loose it. Also, it's still killable with 1 cantrip.

Thoughts?

It would be cool. I'd be in support also of a change to the spell to make it last longer with SF and GSF Evocation, as its the Evocation equivalent of summons, and there's no side bonus attached to Spell Focus in that school.

This isn't Shelgarn's Transient Animated Object.

Ah, but wouldn't it add to the gameworld? Screw Bioware.

One can also not have for example a level 2 summon and then summon the Shelgarn dagger, it dispels the level 2 summon.
