Title: Remove room of endless spawns from lizardfolk quest
Post by: Nihm on July 21, 2010, 04:26:08 AM
This square room past the first water area just keeps spawning lizardmen endlessly.  It makes no sense and is pretty inconvenient to a team that fails and is trying to get back out.  This quest would be greatly improved by removing this section.

Make every room like this room. Hard mode.

Been there couple times, but it is not endless even if it may seem like it.

That's a mass of around forty lizardmen, and where do they come from? They seem to keep spawning and accumulating. I'd like to see this buggy? room get removed, or at least a more reasonable cap placed on how many can appear.

Edit : this was us trying to leave the quest after reaching an impossible obstacle, only to find the way out literally clogged with spawns at this point.

If you kill them when you enter the room it's more than manageable since they spawn in groups of 3 every what like two seconds making it easy for even a team of three. If you however do what you did and metagame that part of the quest and run to the end of the hall before the doors close so you don't have to fight them then you should reap the consequences if you are still then unable to complete the quest.

You're also using a screenshot from over a year ago as evidence?  Really?

Anyhow this room does not have endless spawns, like stated above.  Kill them as you go and everything will be fine.

Mmm, I've never had an issue with that room nor seen endless spawns.

Speaking from experience?  I don't remember if we did that or not, maybe we did.  Likely was the first time doing that quest and maybe it made sense to run through if that is what we did?  Maybe not running through is metagaming because you know about the spawns and how they work?

Really? Has the quest been changed since then, really? I don't think so really, maybe I'm wrong and it has, really! But if it hasn't been then how long ago it was doesn't make a difference, really!

The bottom line is that a spawn mass like this should be fixed.  Personal attacks are hilarious, by the way, keep 'em coming.

They aren't bugged...Just kill the spawns.

I agree there should be a cap in the number of lizardmen in that room at a single time. Maybe 12.

But keep the room, it was the most awsome part of the quest!

I think they come up through the same holes as the snakes do.

They are bugged and can keep spawning and can be repeated as an abusable exploit. Please don't debate things if you don't even know what he is talking about. I promise, this is 100% bugged and has been for a very long time (surviving numerous quest changes / adjustments) The trigger for those spawns can repeat itself many times over and can be used on purpose.

Just saying.

It's not meant to be endless spawns?
