Heya, folks. I'm trying to get back into this server again with a new character, but when I went through the starting area and tried to buy my starting equipment, the game consistently crashes at the Misc. screen. Is this a known issue, or is my personal copy of NWN just borked?
Also, if the starting area gives me the opportunity to craft a custom outfit, why is the lighting too dark to actually see anything on the tailoring dummies?
Sounds like you may just got a problem on your side. It definitely is not too dark there.
You may have some graphical issues or the game is corrupted? Overrides perhaps?
I had problems with crashes when I came back to NWN recently as well. I found that apparently newer video cards don't handle some of the NWN graphical stuff very well. If you're on a newer machine, that might be the problem.
I disabled grass and (I believe) environmental mapping and the crashes stopped.
When things start getting weird, I simply remove ALL my overrides and put only the really necessary ones. Set all the graphic stuff to min, and search something about CPU/processor affinity (this might help (//%22http://www.escapefromunderdark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32815&highlight=processor%22))
I used to crash a lot, due to these problems, combined with a shitty connection. Now I only crash because of the connection. :D

Hmmm. Nope, I just removed all my overrides (which only consisted of the EfU overides anyway) and tried again. No dice.
Video card drivers are up to date.
The rest of the entire game of NWN seems to run fine, it's just specifically when I click the Misc screen of the starting inventory shop.
