Title: Great Job
Post by: Caddies on May 28, 2010, 03:06:28 AM
Its not often I will tell people they are doing a great job, even if they deserve it, but I've felt inclined in light of the stuff that's been going on these last few weeks.

EFU has been abuzz with lots of sweet intrigue, tension and even lots of large-scale yet tasteful PvP with good leadup and followup roleplay (in general). It seems as if our vision when coming up with these new factions and their dynamics and relationships is working out great and to plan, with thanks to the PCs who 'get' what we were looking for and have really delivered. Not to disparage early EFU:A, but I think EFU:A is coming into its own here and its no small thanks to you guys rocking out.

So I just want to say, good work, and keep it up.

I'd say it's been good because we've had a balance of active PCs in all three major factions, rather than one being Flavour of the Month. Combine that with a Truce that's helped shape rivalry between the Duchy and Docks into a tense cold war complete with prisoner exchanges and propaganda, and things have been cool. There's not a feeling that anywhere's bandwagoned to the detriment of anywhere else.

Also, with the city area redesigns there's a lot of neutral ground  near populated areas. Which means PVP can kick off where it's possible to make a retreat or call in allies, rather than being blatant raids in enemy territory by strong PCs or encounters deep in the wild. It's certainly fun to see stuff develop and work out how to get an advantage for your PC.

Kudos to all.

I haven't enjoyed EfU like this in... Well, ever. This is just as awesome as the 'good old days' people seem to love to talk about. Guess what, we're the stuff that makes the 'good old days' possible; as long as we stick to rocking out, so will EfU.

Until recently, I was thinking about giving up on EfU, but the recent interactions (not always my own) have shined for, and not only made me want to play more, but also to actively better my RP and storytelling, which I know has been somewhat lacking recently. Thanks guys! When EfU is good, EfU is good.

So it's not always like this? I mean I've seen so many people die and the tensions grow daily.. and the amazing plots! I fell in love so quickly!

It goes in cycles. You've just got to know -- a cycle is coming!
