Perhaps NPC archers could switch to shooting at a still-fighting character after knocking their current target out, rather than continuing to shoot at an unconscious individual in the middle of a heated combat?

This should already be IG, as far as I know! It just doesn't function properly with the way the ondeath is handled, far as I know.
AI generally acts like this, though sometimes it doesn't- Due to lag, or whatever reason.
Cruzel is right. There is a specific trigger to de-target bleeding characters. AI, however, tends to have a mind of its own.
Hmm...you may want to use somthing to interrupt Line of sight, I notice as long as at some point someone breaks thier targeting of a downed and bleeding char they won't retarget. Also, the script may be bugged to where it only works on the creature that KO's you. Often I get dropped, the one that did the final damage stops shooting, and the rest continue.
